Cambridge application 2018/2019

Hey! I submitted my application on the 10th of November and my last pending reference was submitted on the 12th. I too did not receive a password to my self-service account so I am imagining they are waiting to close off the application deadline first before doing so.

I think that from now on they are only giving us self-service accounts once we get an offer of admission.

In the meantime, our status can be checked directly from the applicant portal.

Hello there fellow candidates! I think Aspirant_2017 is right - I recall that I read somewhere on the Cambridge website that we are given access to a self-service account if admitted.

On a different one, what other L.L.M.s are you applying to (if the case)?

Cheers,

I understood it the same as what Aspirant_2017 said until I read this!

https://www.graduate.study.cam.ac.uk/faqs/applicant/i-have-not-received-my-self-service-account-details-what-should-i-do

"Please check your junk or spam email folder. This is the most common cause of missing emails.

Otherwise, if you do not receive your log in details within three days of submitting payment for your application, please send an email to graduateadmissions@admin.cam.ac.uk. Include the word "password" in the subject of your email. You will need to quote the payment reference number provided in your payment confirmation email (AZBB followed by seven digits.)"

Within three days of submitting payment for your application? Anyway, since no one else has received it I guess it is only upon receiving a conditional offer :)

Hi, everyone!

I wonder where do you apply apart from Cambridge?

Hi! :) I applied to Cambridge, LSE, UCL and KCL. I am very tempted to apply to Edinburgh as their LLM in Information and Technology law looks incredibly interesting but I just might wait to hear back from my first four preferences. What about you?

As far as I understood you have to submit your IELTS scores with the rest of the application by the indicated deadline. It was in "Frequently asked questions" here http://www.llm.law.cam.ac.uk/admissions/frequently-asked-questions.html

What do I need to do if the GAO policy requires me to provide proof of language proficiency?

You will need to pass a test demonstrating proficiency in English and submit the results with the rest of your supporting application documents. You should take your language test early enough to ensure that you receive the results in time to submit them electronically with your application. Unlike other parts of the University, the Faculty of Law requires submission of language tests results by the application deadline. The LLM Committee will not consider applications without the required language test results.

Actually, although 15th November was the deadline to submit the application, 10th December is the deadline to submit the IELTS score.

Hello everyone. I also had the same query regarding submission of IELTS score and had sent an email to the admission office. This is the response that I have received from the faculty:

Please send your language test results document to the Faculty of Law as an email attachment and we will upload it for you as you cannot upload documents after you have submitted your application. Please send your document to us using the following address:

llm@law.cam.ac.uk

Thanks

As I understand it, we do not get access to the Self Service portal, unless an offer is made. Or am I mistaken?

Before this year, the documents were uploaded to self service after an application was made. So you got access to your self service account once you submitted your application.

Beginning this year, there seems to be no self service access at this point. I guess this is to cure the anxiety and the confusion that comes with all the changes in status of application that were usually reflected in the self service account.

So what is your status as of now? Mine is still 'Submitted'.
