Hey everyone, I applied for the LLM starting September 2013 and wondered who else has applied :) I sent my application at about two minutes past midnight on the 1st, sent in all my supporting documents by the 6th, current application status is "Awaiting consideration by department". Let's obsessively check our e-mails every five minutes together!

Congrats!
You're sure must be the first to apply to the 2013/2014 program.
Could you tell us a little bit about your credentials (class rank, professional experience, recommenders, TOEFL score if applicable etc.)?
Regards, Eppendorf

Hey, good luck with your application. I'm still trying to decide on Cambridge (or a UK LLM in general). Would anybody have a rough estimate on what the actual costs amount to- inlcuding tuition, living expenses and a reasonable entertainment allowance etc.? It would really help me decide. Thanks in advance.

Hey grad_student,
the LL.M at Cambridge for the academic year 2013/14 will be approximately £19,000 minimum overall (see http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/students/studentregistry/fees/costs/coursecost/costs2013.pdf)
Also a useful website is the Cambridge LL.M website itself - it contains lots of very useful information and important dates:

I've now just applied for the LL.M (general) at Cambridge 2013/14.
I wish it wasn't going to be such a long wait to hear back though :/

Guys, it's going to be a seriously long wait. Don't check every 5 minutes, you'll go insane. I'm currently doing the LLM (2012/2013) and most people only got their offers in April 2012 onwards (with a few exceptional ones in Feb 2012). But all the best!

effloresce,
I realise it's going to be months before we hear back - the only reason I keep checking my application is to see if my second referee has uploaded my reference yet! And of course, as soon as he's done that I can rest easy and not think about it for months.
I've also applied for the LL.M at Durham (as a back-up) and I've read it only takes around 6 weeks before I'll be given an offer or not! If only Cambridge's application was that quick.
By the way effloresce, are you from the UK? What uni were you at before you started the LL.M?
Thanks.

Do you need a personal statement this year or is it just the three questions on the application form?
Posted Oct 15, 2012 20:30
Hey Cici,
I've just submitted my application - it's just the three questions that are needed i.e. it did not ask me for a personal statement.

In the process of filing my application.
Not very hopeful for the same but there is no loss in trying.

Wow u guys are really early! I am still working on my motivations section.
Also, I was wondering whether the ranking of my university will affect my application? Am currently averaging first class marks, a whole range of ECs and also have decent summer work ex and exemplary A- levels.
Personal circumstances dictated my undergrad uni choice and am desperate for an upgrade!
On another note, how long was your CV?

I don't think we need to submit a cv do we?

Umm I think it is included in the supporting documents section if you look up the course specifications under Qualifications Directory. Have a vague recollection of seeing it there!

Hi, could you maybe give me an idea of the range of universities that current students hail from? I am very unsure of getting accepted because of the ranking of my university.

above all, it's the marks that counts. if there is another applicant with identical marks your uni might tip the scales. but don't worry, with your marks and the other stuff you have a great chance of getting in.

Thank you! Made my day! Presume you are applying for the programme during this cycle?

As you have finished submitting your application, can you just help me out with the "line limit" in the application. I am unable to comprehend it and even if i exceed it it still accepts.
