Yes, even though IELTS is not the preferred test, nowadays many USA universities accepts it.
Actually I've applied to UVA (which I've already received an offer), Georgetown, Duke, Uppen, NYU, Chicago and Michigan, just using my IELTS scores.

As far as I know, Fordham also accepts IELTS.

Berkeley also accepts it!

Yeah I have also heard that there are a lot of USA universities that accept IELTS as the English proficiency proof. This is why I also would be taking the ielts coaching in panchkula for my USA Study visa. I just got my trail classes at this institute and very happy with them so will start my classes soon.
