I do get a total score of 103 (reading 26, listening 26, speaking 26 and writing 25). I do not meet the minimum requirement of 105, but meet the minimum requirement of each section.
It is a very strange score cuz so far I am the only one (around me) get a lower score on total amount but meet the minimum requirement for each section...
Shall i need to re-try the test again or I will have any possiblity?
Thanks for your answer.
Any loose possibility on Columbia's TOEFL requirement?

Actually, I'm not very familiar with Columbia's requirements, but I can say that almost all law schools require a minimum of 100. Your score was very good, and I don't think you need to worry about that. I think it will be enough. Have you only applied to Columbia?
Best of luck!

Mila, thank you very much for your reply.
I understand that I have exceed the 100 requirement of most law school. However, CLS has a 105 minimum requirement.
Is there any one has the real case that CLS has enroll some guy who do not meet 105 requirement but meet minimum requirement of each section?

You shouldn't have many problems with the Admissions Office because of your score; I don't want to say to don't mind at all about your toefl score, but, once you demonstrate your language skills, they consider if you meet all the other requirements and your position among the applicants. for example, if you apply from a foreign country (or you're trained from a foreign law school), you will probably "face" the other candidates from your same country... finally, don't worry too much about your toefl score, as I got 92 and anybody rejected my application for this reason!

Irony, anyone?

Sorry, but you are saying that Columbia accpets, depending on the country, candidates with scores under 100, like 92?

if your credentials are strong, columbia won't focus too much on your toefl. I was admitted 2008 though I only had 101 Pts. So good luck...

Hi,
I am gonna to apply to an LLM at Columbia University. I have already got a scholarship for it. I have a very high average and many international experiences. But my toefl is 92. If I am not accept by Columbia University, I will miss my scholarship. So does anyone know if the toefl is a really strict requirement?
Thank's in advance.
Carli

Carli, I'm not gonna lie to you. I think with your 92 BiT, it will significantly affect your chance to be admitted. I'mnot saying that you will certainly not be considered, but I'm pretty sure they will pick other applicants who have qualified TOEFL scores even if their credentials are slightly inferior than yours.
So, if I were you I will retake it and make sure the score be as close to 105 as possible.
Just curious about your scholarship. What kind of scholarship is this you're talking about? I'm sure they would allow you to go to other schools too should you be admitted else where, right??

I am in a similar situation with you. My iBT score is 110, but the score on speaking section is only 23, lower than the required 26. Although the CLS's website announced that any scores not meeting the requirements will greatly affect the application, CLS did reply to me that my score is fine. If you really want to apply to CLS, just send the admission office an email. They are very nice and give responses very quickly.
