Has anyone heard news about tax scholarships at any of the schools? I know the deadlines they post on their websites but those certainly weren't accurate for admissions decisions, so I'm just wondering if anyone has gotten a scholarship award yet...

Did your Georgetown scholarship come within the admission email?

No, I was admitted in December, and the decision came few days ago.

Congratulations Malegria! Do you think you will go to Georgetown? Are you a domestic or international student?

Congrats! I actually called them last week to ask this very question and they informed me that while a few of the scholarships have been handed out, the vast majority have not. Additionally, the decisions come separately (generally). Hope that helps!

That's good to know. Thanks.

Yes, I asked about this too, and was told that the scholarship offers are made in rounds. The first round of offers has already been made, and additional rounds will be made on a rolling basis.

Thanks! I am an international student, from Belarus. I haven't accepted the Georgetown's offer yet since I'm still waiting for decisions of some other schools. However, for now Georgetown is my priority.

Hello guys, and what about Georgetown's fellowships, any news?
Posted Mar 16, 2012 01:26
I received a spot in Georgetown's Graduate Tax Scholars program (50% tuition scholarship). Exciting news!
Anyone get scholarship news from NYU?

Hey, prizm77, congrats! I was awarded with the same scholarship! What country are you from? Have you already accepted the offer?
Posted Mar 17, 2012 00:25
I'm from the US and I haven't accepted yet..

Anyone domestic tax students hear from NYU? I wonder if they've already done the second wave of scholarships.

I am not "domestic" but I applied for the regular Taxation LLM at NYU. I sent them an email asking when the tax scholarships will be awarded. They replied "on a rolling basis over the next few weeks"...so I guess we still have to wait a little bit.

I received a decline to the GULC Graduate Tax Scholars program today (3/21/12). See below. My admission stats etc. are on app tracker and in past posts, for reference. Congratulations to those accepted into the program and good luck to those still awaiting decisions!
"Thank you for applying for the Graduate Tax Scholars Program at Georgetown University Law Center. I regret to inform you that the Fellowship Committee is unable to offer you one of the scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year. We received a large number of highly competitive applicants for this program and the Committee spent a great deal of time reviewing the credentials of each person. Unfortunately, we could not offer fellowships to many well qualified candidates. We have almost completed our admissions process for the class entering this fall, and are very excited about the high quality of the students we have admitted. I encourage you to enroll here at Georgetown as part of this excellent group."

ahj79255, I am sorry. It is really sad when you are in one step to get in but no scholarship is offered. I had the same with Columbia this year. Anyway, are you still considering Georgetown?

Guys, has anyone heard anything from Northwestern?
I was told that the first wave of scholarship decisions has been out already and the next batch of applications will be considered after 2 April. The bad thing is that the deposit deadline in most schools is before 2 April. :( So now I wonder what is the average amount of scholarship granted by Northwestern, particularly to Tax LLM applicants?
