Utrecht - Leuven

capa

Hi everyone,

How is the quality of the LLM at Utrecht? How does it compare to Leuven?

Has anyone completed (or otherwise currently completing) an LLM from these institutions?

Any tips on funding?

Many thanks ~

Hi, ny2miami. I have been accepted from leiden, amsterdam and groningen law school. however it is difficult to decide. i am interested in international law, and more specific in the law of armed conflicts and peace since i am already following a first master in conflict resolution. any idea of which one is best? i heard the groningen came first in the an official evaluation of dutch law schools.

Go to Leiden. You're about 20 minutes from the Hague, and that's where you need to be for that area of study. Plus Leiden has a well-known name outside of the Netherlands, unlike Groningen. U of Amsterdam is not a top-tier university. Leiden is much more respected by international lawyers and professors. Plus, people will think that you went to Amsterdam just to party. Good luck, you'll have fun!

yes, geoman its true i will be going there in september, so im a little biased!! but, i think leiden university for international law is certainly in the top 10 in the world, and given its location even better. from what I have read, many also agree. dont you or others agree?
