Hi
Congratulations. I too have been admitted to this LLM starting in Sep 2021. Do you have applied for any other universities?
Would be nice if we can contact each other

Congratulations! I also got an offer yesterday. UvA is my first choice because of the program, but i also applied to WU and will have a hard time deciding should I be fortunate enough to also get an offer there (because i think Vienna might be cheaper in terms of living costs).
I also got an early acceptance to QMUL last year but will only consider a UK school if I get a chevening scholarship since London is very expensive!

Great! UvA is also my first choice. I was admitted to KCL last year and deferred, but I like the looks of the specific tax programme at UvA. I also considered WU, but chose to go with UvA.
We should set up at whatsapp group at some point.

Hi Guys!
Congrats to all offer holders! I got an offer from UvA yesterday. I also got offers from King's College London (KCL) and Maastricht, and I'm waiting for an answer from Vienna (WU). I think is going to be a though choice.
Does anyone knows someone who is currently attending the Advanced LLM in Tax at Amsterdam, or who already graduated? It would be very helpful to have an insider's opinion, especially on those matters that are not normally explained in the program's brochure, such as typical weekly schedules, precise assessment criteria and mechanisms, etc.

Hi everyone
Can we create a WhatsApp group so that it would be easier to follow discussions. Could anyone suggest how we can contact?

Hey everyone! I got the acceptance mail on the 21st of this month. I actually got admitted last year as well but didn't go because of this entire covid pandemic.
Have you created the WhatsApp group as of yet? Would love to connect with you all :)
Posted Jan 27, 2021 06:35
Nope. Not created any group yet. Could we get in touch through linkedin?

Also does anyone know if the classes would be at University this time around? One of the reasons I withdrew my application last year was because the first semester was being conducted online. But with the vaccinations and all picking up this year all across the world, I'm hoping it would be kind of normal by August September!
Please let me know your views. Thank you!

I emailed Maurine from the program to ask if they expect face(mask) to face(mask) (haha) classes this coming academic year and I’ll let everyone know once she responds.
So far there’s 7 of us here right? Does anyone know the usual class size for the program? I remember reading somewhere that they take in around 25 students a year but I can’t seem to recall where I read that information.

This is what Maurine said:
Dear Garth, Thank you for your e-mail.Unfortunately we don’t know anything for sure as you may understand, but we certainly hope to resume on campus after summer ( and if possible before). With regard to travelling to Amsterdam, this will probably be possible, but this also depends on how the situation around covid-19 evolves. I wish I could tell you more, but we live in uncertain times.”

I don't see why the program shouldn't be conducted in university from August onwards. Netherlands has a population of about 17 million and it isnt even among the worst hit of the countries. The last academic year was conducted online as the scare against covid was real but since vaccinations have started almost everywhere (including Netherlands) and seeing that we have about 7-8 months before the program starts, I'd say that conducting the program at Uni is a no-brainer!
Also, answering your question, I think the class is strength is around 20-25 too. One of my friends (couple of them actually) graduated from UvA last to last year and she told me that they have a pretty small class of about 20-25 students, which is really nice as there will be more in-person focus!

Interesting - do you/they have any more information regarding the programme which cannot be found online?

Wouldn't it be better to have a WhatsApp group for UvA Law school, and not just International tax law! Just suggestion, it's better to socialise!
