Hi all,
I have been accepted to two LLM programmes at Maastricht University. I was wondering if anyone has advice on which may be the better LLM to do? I have been accepted to both:
i) the European Law school master's and;
ii) the Globalisation and Law (Human Rights) master's.
I initially only applied for the ELS programme because of its reputation and because of the excellent internship possibilities with institutions in Brussels, etc.
However, I subsequently came across the Globalisation and Law programme and discovered that it's quite varied in content, which I like. I have interests in many policy areas, such as criminal law, trade, human rights, law and economics, etc. There would be a possibility to study all of these policy areas.
However, I'm not sure if this master's programme is as well regarded by international institutions with as many internship possibilities as the ELS master's. I have no idea about its reputation, or whether the Maastricht Centre of Human Rights has many well-known affiliations with institutions such as the UN. I'm also wary of being "shoehorned" within the legal domain of human rights because of the title of the LLM, regardless of the varied content of the programme.
If anyone could clarify on any of these issues, that would be great!!!
