I've been accepted to the ILF 2007/2008. Anyone else? Would be nice to share some thoughts!
Does anyone know about if they already have decided about financial aid and who's getting the German course?

It seems that your are the only one that is going to attend the LL.M program at Frankfurt University :-)
Where are you from ?
Are you going to accept the offer of admission ?
Did you apply to any other LLM ?
I am also interested in the program but I am not sure if it is a good option. I mean, the Institute for law and Finance has been created just 4 years ago and is the most expensive program in Germany. Almost all the LLM programs cost less than 1000 euros. Actually, I think that i am going to attend the LLM offered by Humboldt University in Berlin.
Hey people
Do you know if there are other LLm programs focused in Law and Finance in Germany ?
Thanks in advance

Yes, It seems to be only me!!
To answer your questions, I have accepted the offer and I did not apply anywhere else. I hope to get scholarship to help me fund the LL.M., so fingers crossed!
About the reputation, it is newly started, but it is a perfect programme for me and thus the fact that it is a "new" LL.M. is not significant to me. However, I can understand your concerns.
About Law and Finance programmes in Germany you have Bucerius Law School (which btw is the most expensive programme in Germany) , otherwise I don't know.
Hoped it answered your questions!

Hi theswede,
I'm sending my application very soon, but I can't find the "class rank" letter that they mention on as a meterial. What about you? Did you send them this letter? And how long does it take to get the answer from admission office?
Hopefully, I will accept and we may met in Frankfurt.
Cheers

Hi!
My university does not give any "class rank". I got a letter stating that from my university, which I sent with my application to the ILF. It took 4 weeks until I got the answer (which is their aim).
Good luck with your application and feel free to ask if you have more questions!

Hi Folks!
I've also been accepted to this program and I am happy to hear from other accepted applicants. For those who asked about "class rank", the answer is if your university doesn't give you such a certificate, you should get from your university a statement which shows that they cannot provide a class rank of the students. My university also didn't give such a certificate and I got them to give me a statement that they can't provide such a paper.
As to the issue of how soon they will announce you the results of your application, they say, it will take about 6 weeks. They answered me in 5 weeks.

Posted Apr 10, 2007 14:10

Hi,
If I tell from my experience, they will confirm the acceptance of your application within a week. And after that, it will probably take them approxitimately 5 weeks to announce the result of your application. But it might be different from what I said, because I applied in November, not in April. The number of applicants might be higher or lower, so you might get a response much sooner or later. You had better refer to Dr. Kobbelt. She is very helpful in these matters. You can even give a call.

ya right..i think i am quite late in sending my application....more so becuase there arent many seats on offer..but i am keeping my fingers crossed.......
Posted Apr 10, 2007 21:51
well, if they are still receiving applications, it means, they still have some places to offer. Mainly, it depends on the merits of your application but not when you applied. If you have a high GPA and good recommendation letters, you should get accepted, of course, provided that other applicants also do not have higher qualifications. Everything in this world is a matter of comparison and relativeness, you know.
relax and have fun, you have done your part, it is up to the admission commission now :-)
