I see, it must be interesting to have an international experience plus traveling.
I guess, there is nobody besides us, who is interested in talking about the program. :-)

hey zok...do you think having a first class degree in economics and a second class degree in law helps? ofcourse 3 years of corporate experience in a leading law firm in india? i am waiting now.i confirmed via email and i understand that they are still receiving appluication for the few seats left now....i hope i get through....i have been told that the placemet scenario after ILF is quite impressive,,,,almost 200% placements..what do ya sya?

What i can say is, if we applied at the same time, and for them to select one of us, they'd select you, believe me. First, I don't have a degree in Economics. Second, I don't have much experience in business law. I am a human rights lawyer. Feeling much relaxed? :-)

Even the moderator gave you two stars to you but not to me.

Hi guys,
as you have probably seen from my previous posts I am currently at the ILF (second semester just started btw...great classes I must say, even better than the 1st semester).
The placement scenario seems indeed impressive. All the alumni I've met have good positions. Some students get job offers even before completing the program.
Going forward, we have now the first American student from Columbia, for one semester. Commencing with yr class there should be American students from Columbia for the whole yr (joint degree JD/LLM). Good news for the ILF coz this means that the program has been accredited (for American students) by the ABA.

I am currently living in the University dorms, there is a certain number of rooms available. A lottery takes place every year to assign the rooms to the interested students of the ILF (I don't know exactly how many rooms are there: in my dorms we are 6 students of the ILF, there are probably 2 or 3 other rooms in other dorms). So if you are admitted remember that you will have to show you interest in participating in the lottery (Btw good luck on the admission process, and congratulations for yr admission to Erasmus University).
As to job prospects, I am certain, although I don't know the numbers, that most students find a job back home, or in some other countries (UK for instance), but not in Germany. If you are a foreign lawyer, the possibility of being hired by a law firm in Germany are scarce (unless you are American, or the law firm has some special interest in having a, say, chinese or indian lawyer). It is simpler to get a job in a bank. So it depends on what you are looking for, and where you come from, and if you can speak German.
On the other hand, it seems to me that so far the ILF students were successful in finding a good job in their home countries or somewhere else.

Hi,

yeah, i did. I paid 500 euros as an enrollment fee(10 % of the tuition). I am waiting for response from DAAD. I applied to some scholarship to cover my living expense. Though I got rejection from them yesterday, I appealed them. There was just some kind of maladministration: they failed to inform me about the date and place of the interview. I had no idea about the interview, I wasn't informed. They arguing that I did not include my phone number and email address in the application form. But I don't believe it can be the reason since it was possible to notify me through ordinary mail, moreover, I left the phone number and email address of my relative. Now I will see what their decision will be.

CAN YOU THROW some lighton the last year placements..did all students last year were sucessfully placed? can you tell me about a few?

4 weeks more or less.
They replied via e-mail. They are very well- organized and rather swift i might add.
Good luck with your application!

hey, thanks for asking. I am also still waiting what they will tell.... you should probably inform Erasmus that you are waiting for results from ILF if there is a deadline to confirm your enrollment at Erasmus.
