EMLE vs. EMTTLF

It goes as following:

1) Deusto period = 100% EMTTLF, no integration.
2) Tilburg period = some courses purely EMTTLF (although same as offered to other LL.M students), some with other students to a variable proportion (sometimes EMTTLFrs are majority, sometimes a minority within a larger LL.M group).
3) Strasbourg / CEIPI = 100% integration.
4) ILF = 100% integration, save for some non-academic services (at least a priori) and a slightly minor workload (a couple of courses less than the regulars).

Selection is two-tiered. First the ILF gets to pick 5 people, then Deusto and Strasbourg choose the remaining 17.

The selection meeting took place in Tilburg last week.

Thanks Don Colacho! Great info! If the selection meeting took place last week, I guess we should receive news soon then.

Hello guys,
I was admitted but without scholarship.
They said they received too many applicants with one or more master degrees, so they ranked above me.
There were 431 eligible applicants, 150 available places and 30 places for third country students.
Waiting for EMTTLF now....
Fingers crossed!!!!!!

Congratulation for those who are admitted for EMLE.

Too bad I'm not admitted, not even for a waiting list..........well, what will be will be.

Anyone apply the program more than 2 times? I'm curious that can I apply again next year.

Hopefully EMTTLF will have a seat for me

Hi Movignon,

I am sure you can apply next year, but I will recommend to work on those things they value the most to select the students and to grant the scholarships, so you can improve your chances.

According to their email the final ranking was made on the basis of the following criteria:

* Academic record: level and results of the previous study (bachelor, master or otherwise), level of the grades, number of different studies and relevance of the studies for the EMLE programme;
* Quality of the letter of motivation, e.g. does the applicant show affinity with the topic of the economic analysis of law;
* CV;
* Reference letters;
* English proficiency.

But still, I hope you get admitted to EMTTLF, so you wont need to apply again next year.

What track have you selected?

Thank you eu2011 for very good info and the wish ^_^

I think I have a problem with the Motivation Letter since I'm not a good essay writer even in my own language. I will improve it and try again.

My track in EMTTLF is Finance in German for 2nd year.

Wish me luck, I need it

Well, I am not sure how important is the motivation letter for EMTTLF, but I am guessing is not as important as it is for EMLE, taking into consideration you can only write one page. There is not much you can say in one page, but maybe they value how well you synthesize relevant information.

According to what I have been told, academic performance of the applicant is the most important issue for EMTTLF, so if you have a good GPA, I guess you have good chances. It is also important how many people from your country have applied, because only one student is selected per country.

I have also selected the Fraknfurt track, so hopefully we are both part of the lucky 5!

We should know our destiny on Monday, so lets try to relax this weekend. I know I wont, but it is still a good advise :)

Last year the results were announced at 10th of February (successful applicants were informed on that date) so I think or the results will be very soon, or they already informed the successful applicants, and the official list will be announced later.

It depends on the track you have applied to. ILF requires at least a score of 600 on the paper based toefl (100 on the IBT). For the Strasbourg track you only need 580, which is the equivalent to 92 on the IBT. If you have a good application, I do not think 2 points will make a difference.

If you have already applied, we should know very soon. Believe me, I understand how anxious one can get waiting for the final decision, and I am also thinking about every possible weakness of my application, but lets try to stay positive.

I do not know if EMTTLF gives conditional offers. May be if you have an excellent application and the toelf is your only week point, they may want to offer you a place anyway asking you to take the test again.

If you have not applied yet, then I suggest you retest and apply with the score they require.
