College of Europe

Babette

Hi everybody!
I'm an Italian girl, I've applied to the College of Europe in Bruges and I was wondering when eventually they will let me know if I will be interviewed in order to be admitted (hopefully!).
Do you know when the selections usually take place?

Thanks!

hi!

I also applied for the next session. I think that the interview takes place in April and results come out in May.
Are you applying for the LLM or IRD?

Hi!
I've applied for the LLM, and you? What program have you chosen?I've applied for the program in European Political and Administrative studies.
Do you know what kind of question do they generally ask at the interview?

Thanks!:-)

I applied for the EU International Relations and Diplomacy programme!if you search 'college of europe' in the discussion board's search box, you'll find a bunch of other threads discussing the interview content- luckily for you, most of them are italians;-) I do know though that the interview takes place both in English and French - for Greek applicants at least!

By the way, did u apply for the LLM (EU Law) after all or the Political and Administrative Studies?Or is the the latter a sub-division of the former?

The program you've applied to seems also very interesting!Anyway, I don't think that the program in European Political and Administrative studies is part of the program in European Law, even if there will surely be some similarities.
So, are you greek? Thanks for suggesting me to search College of europe in the discussion board.
I would really like to be admitted!Your program will be held in Bruges too, am I right?

Hi there!
I have also applied to the College of Europe (LLM in European Law)! I´ve heard that the interview will take place after Easter and that we will know if we are accepted for interview by the end of February!! Does anybody know which are the admission requirements for the College? Which is the profile of the candidate that will be accepted?

Hi Alice!
I've heard that generally languages are really important, they don't pretend a perfect knowledge of the program we've chosen, otherwise it would be useless to apply, I suppose.
But frankly I don't know if there's a real profile of the accepted candidate.
So you're saying that we will know if we'll be accepted to the interview by the end of february?
May I ask you how you're preparing yourself for a possible interview?EC law, European integration?

I haven' t started yet getting myself prepared for the interview. I don' t even know if I have any chances of being accepted as I am in my final year of studies and I will get my degree in June! Anyway, I think that EC Law is quite sufficient for the interview. Have you started preparing yourself? Have you got any clue about what they are going to ask?

I'm in the same situation, except that I'm graduating in March. I think that I'm goin to prepare myself on EU law too, my fear is that they won't accept me for the programme in European Political and Administrative studies because my background is not properly in Political Science, but in Law...
No, definitely I don't know what they're going to ask, and you?Have you got any clue?

I have a silly question to ask: have you received acknowledgment of receipt of the supporting documentation package you send via post?? Because I haven't and I am suddenly really worried about it...

Well, yes, I've received it, but I sent the documentation by "recorded delivery with acknowledgement of receipt". I was worried too, because I received the acknowledgement only two weeks after I sent it.
Anyway the College itself doesn't sent you anything to prove their reception. If I were you I wouldn't be worried, did you send it by first-class mail?

Well, from what I read on the website, no, they don't sent any acknowledge of receipt. Call if you want to be sure, but I think that they surely have received your application :-)
I would like to know when we will know something about the eventual interview, I keep my fingers crossed!

Today morning I received an email asking me to confirm that I will be available for an interview by telephone on february 26th!:) yay! I didn't have to call them myself after all!:P

Ah and something I forgot to answer: I have both Greek and Cypriot nationality, but I applied as a Cypriot and since Cyprus doesn't have its own national committee, I will be selected directly by the College- thus the phone interview.

I'll let you know what they asked:)
