Hey guys,

It seems that no offer from the French committee means rejection at that stage.

Antigone, the list won't be online before Friday of this week or Monday of next week but the invitations for interview in law were sent on last Thursday (dixit Egide today).

I feel quite bitter to be honest. Which kind of academic record have the people who got an interview? Currently doing the Mjur speciliazing in European and Comparative Law after one licence in Law and one in English and two years of Hypo and Khagne, I expected my application to be successful...

Hallo,

I am currently applying to two programs and I would like to see a realistic comparison, at least in terms of prestige, between these two programs:

College of Europe - European Law LLM
Leiden - European and International Business Law LLM(Advanced Studies)

As a Turkish citizen, having an LLM in European Law would only give me some direct advantage (at least, if at all) in 20 years; the only thing is that, in accordance with the accession procedures; now all the legislation has been & is being modified in accordance with the European Law. LLM in EU and Intl. Business Law should prove handy in any case, however I would also prefer to have something more with some public law aspect.(For my case, if I get acceptance, Leiden would be with tuition scholarship & COE with a full scholarship)

Thanks in advance,

Hey guys and gals,

did u wrtie your motivation letters yet?

asking as an ENP candidate, i would love it if u would be so kind in answering me weather or not u changed your LOM when u wrote your motivation for the first chice of program, than to the second one, or do u thnk that copy pasting the different programs with an honest statement that u will rather pursue the llm program is enough?

any thoughts?

thanks in advance,

Nir

Got a few questions:

b. Do you know how many Spanish people apply and aprox how many are accepted every year?

Good luck to all of you!! Hope we all meet up in Septembre with a bit of luck!

@nirontrip: if you just copy paste your motivation letter for your second choice, why do you even apply for a second choice?
I think that if the LLM is the only program you want, then maybe you should only apply for this. If getting into CoE is more important than the specific program you follow, then I would suggest you write a real motivation letter. No?

Dear MZ,

first, i want to thank you very much for youre reply.

as i went through the apply online form, i was under the impression that i have to choose a second option. please correct me if i am wrong. i can leave the motivation square empty for the second one but i am uncertain yet weather it will induce a bad impression... this is why i posted the question.

i know finally it is my decision to make, but i wanted to hear about other people's expiriences on this subject. do you know anyone that only applied for llm and then left the other square empty?

when i think about it, my motivation in studying at CoE would be still high even if it would be in another program. neverthelss, the actual reasoning as elaborated in the letter will be quite similar, and therfore in any case my motivation for one will be only slightly rendered for the other... given that i, wanted to know weather you or anybody else with this dillema sustantially changed their letter of motivation? and if so, have they mentioned it is their second choice at CoE...?

following with a question on the interviews:

if any of you had gone through the interview as non native french speakers, i would love to know your assesment on the level of french and the amount of french questions, in ration with the english questions you were requierd to answer?

thank you in advance for your response.

best wishes!

Antigone726 I´m really sorry to hear that news but CoE is not the ONLY choice so you will find another option! Good luck and don´t be discouraged.

Regarding to the spanish interviews I´ve called CoE and they told me we are on time, end march beggining april we will receive the notification if we are eligible or not. Even I´m mexican I´m applying through the spanish gov. and the quota for latinamericans is 5, I don´t know what about spanish students.

We need to take a big breath and wait for the news!

Wishing everybody the Best

Ines

Hi Girls and Boys,¨

I am a swiss practicing lawyer. The intent of my application to the CoE is to specialise in Law and Economics in the perspective of a thesis on large company regulations in the EU.
As antitrust is also very much an american discipline, I have applied to several other schools in the US.
I have passed the interview and I believe it went well. I am now in the difficult position of having to choose the LLM program I wish (Columbia? UofC? CoE? wait for Oxford MLF?).
Considering I could get a full scholarship for the CoE, that would put a heavy balance in its favor. In this case I was wondering if you guys would then go to the US for an extra LLM after the CoE? (I wouldnt have spent my money!)

Lord of the milk - in my humble opinion, it seems as if you already have a very strong background if your application was successful in all those schools.
I really doubt that you would need to do two llms, quite the contrary - I think it could play against you, sometimes you just need to quit studying and get working! And obviously, the money factor is important.
