I have recently been admitted to ADH for 2010 and plan on attending. Anyone else on their way to Geneva? Can any past graduates or current students comment on the quality of instruction, job prospects following the program, quality of life in geneva, etc.?
Thanks!

Dear gbound,
Congratulations! for your selection to ADH for 2010. Would you please tell me what were your specific credentials that gave the push to your selection? Also, what are the formalities to be followed and the selection procedure for the same?
I am still a year far from my graduation and hope to do an LLM in IHL. ADH is one of my topmost priorities.
Please guide.
Regards,
Rahber

Would you mind sending me the same, gbound? I could have written the previous post word-for-word. The Geneva Academy is my number one choice and I intend to apply for the 2011/12 period. I wish there was more information available to potential students, the admission standards on the website are so vague!
Anyway, congratulations on your admission. I've been to Geneva before and it's a gorgeous city. It's a lovely mix of political inspiration (I could have walked around the UN buildings and the ICRC for days), boundless nature and culture. It's *extremely* expensive and it's not very conducive to hard-partying as it's quite conservative, but I'm sure you will love it there. I can't wait to go.

As of right now I am planning on going there for 2010-2011. However, I am still waiting on one other school which if I got into I might change my mind.

Hey, i've also been admitted for the programme 2010-2011 at the ADH, but I'm gonna do the French courses... We are going to see each other in Geneva! Can't wait to meet you!

Hey guys, I´ve also been admitted for the MAS this year (2010-2011) at the ADH, and I will do the english courses, probably. Hopefully next semester I will be able to do some courses in french too. I´ve never been in Geneva, but today I met a lady at the UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Salvador, Brazil, and she told me that is not that easy to find a place to live in Geneva, that I should look it soon. A lot of people told me that the city is very nice, and life there is pretty good. I can´t wait to go ! See you all there !

I have not seen this forum until today.. Aah I should have found you guys earlier!
I am also admitted to the program at ADH for 2010-2011 and now waiting for my scholarship decision.. I will take the English courses, but the opportunity to improve my French is wonderful!
I am super-excited about the school (have been dreaming about Geneva for ever....), but I want to defer my admission until next year.
Do you guys know if ADH permits students to defer the admission for one year? Also can I defer my scholarship?
Looking forward to hearing from you guys!

After weighing a couple of schools I have decided to go the Academy this coming fall. I am excited about Geneva and practicing my French. I have started to look for places to live but it is tough. I don't know anything about deferring until next year.

Hi, I´m sorry I don´t know anything about deferring until next year too. What you could do is call to the Academy, or to the University of Geneva and ask about that. Thomas it is very hard to find a place to live there. I am trying too, but so far I didn´t find anything. Someone that lived there told me that, but I didn´t know that it was so hard. She told me to look outside of Geneva if I don´t find anything there. It is only take the train and in 30 min I will be there. Well, lets see, I hope to find something inside of the town.

Have you done the registration at the University of Geneva online? The deadline is today. Today is the deadline for sending a passport size photograph to the Academy too.

I just got a letter last week in the mail. I would think yours will be there any day. They do know how to cut things closely in terms of documentation and the visa process don't they...

Hey naul, I didn´t receive yet a letter of confirmation too. I was kind of worried about that too, because I´m not sure if everything went right. I don´t know nothing about the payment too. Did you receive some confirmation after making it ? Today a guy from the Geneva University answered me saying that my documents arrived there (the ones for the registration). As he didn´t say anything bad, I think we have to wait. He said the procedure is done according to the order of arrival of the documents there.

Hello,
thanks for your reply! I'm going to wait an other week and when I haven't received anything then; I will contact the University.
I haven't gotten any confirmation for the paiment either. I hope that they've gotten it!

Hello! I would like to hear experiences from students at ADH Geneva. Is it everything you hoped for? I want to apply this year and I could see that program is interesting, but I am alos interested to hear your personal experience. Many thanks!

I, too, am very intrigued to hear the opinions of current or former students. ADH is my number one choice for this year. I can't wait until they finally open up applications.
Can former/current students give an idea, however, of how competitive the admissions process is? How many students are accepted? Is the admissions process at all holistic, or is it entirely grades-based? Are most of the students recent law graduates, or do they have more work experience?
Would love to hear some insight from anyone who has any ideas.

Hi everyone! I am so glad I found this post! I am applying for the 2011 program at ADH and I am becoming really confused about the motivation letter as I am sure it is quite different than what is expected in the States!
gbound (and/or anyone else that can help) would you mind telling me a bit more about the specifics that helped you out while applying? I was looking for sample motivation letters on the website and they provide none. I just wanted to see if there is a general structure that they look for as they have a general structure in the States when you apply.
ADH is my first choice if I get in! :)
Thank you so much for all your help! :)
