I, too, am very intrigued to hear the opinions of current or former students. ADH is my number one choice for this year. I can't wait until they finally open up applications.
Can former/current students give an idea, however, of how competitive the admissions process is? How many students are accepted? Is the admissions process at all holistic, or is it entirely grades-based? Are most of the students recent law graduates, or do they have more work experience?

Would love to hear some insight from anyone who has any ideas.

hey everyone--i'm in the same boat. i just submitted my application but do not really have a frame of reference for whether i will be accepted. judging by the website the program sounds great, but i don't know that much about it...never met anyone who's done their llm there etc. i actually sort of stumbled upon the school when i was doing some research and realized that it sounded great for me (i want to get my llm in ihl and icl). anyway, more information would be great!! good luck to everyone's that's applied!

Hey-- I haven't heard anything from the program, not an auto reply email to my application or anything (i sent it via email, what about you?). I was going to wait a week or two until I contacted them to follow up. Thinking that maybe they needed processing time. We have some time, it looks like they extended their deadline to Feb 15th. Keep me posted if you find anything out though, I will do the same...

I just submitted my application (finally) and I received a confirmation email in under 5 minutes. I hope those of you who were waiting for confirmation emails did eventually receive them...

Any other news worth sharing from other fellow applicants? Last year the deadline was February 15th and most posters were talking about their acceptances between March 31st and April 15th. I hope that having this years deadline extended to Feb 28th doesn't mean we'll have to wait too long...

I received my confirmation right away too. I just submitted my application on Saturday. I am quite nervous about it now @_@ ADH is my first choice but unfortunately I don't have too much experience working I am just going to graduate in May. I hope I can still get in though. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, I hope we don't have to wait too long either @_@

Yes, I think the website says something like all admissions decisions will be made no later than 8 weeks after the deadline. With the later deadline this year, it would seem to push back that date as well.

Does anyone know the LLM class size at ADH?

So, since all the people applying to this program are obviously interested in the same subjects... What other schools has everyone applied to?

I've applied to ADH, UCL, LSE, Columbia, University of Toronto, and Carleton University (for MA Legal Studies.)

ADH is my number one choice out of all my applications (though I'm starting to waver a bit and consider LSE more.)

Where else have you all applied, and where are you considering going if ADH doesn't work out? Good luck everyone.

I swear, I'm the only person this obsessed with the course.

I received an email today stating that a decision would be made on April 4th. Did all of you get this email? That's 5 weeks after the deadline, much sooner than the promised 8 week turnaround time. I'm impressed and excited.

Ya I got it too...April is too late for me though since applications for fin aid shuld be made after the admissions decisions are made and no idea when they will decide on that...deadlines for confirming other offers will pass by...

I did not get that email. How disturbing. Can you give the email it came from so I can follow up?

Poppet-- I applied to lse, leiden, cambridge, colmbia and nyu also. I got a prompt rejection from the lse though. Some of those are a bit of a stretch for me but I figure it's worth a try. Can I ask why you didnt apply to Leiden's program? Seems like it would be in the same list of schools.

The email was received from Daniela Renggli (daniela.renggli@adh-geneve.ch) and it was not personalized. I have been in extremely regular contact with Ms. Renggli though, and I have found her helpful, patient and prompt in her responses.

And if you're good enough to apply to Cambridge then I wouldn't worry too much!

I didn't apply to Leiden simply because of the location, really. I know that Leiden's an amazing school though, and two years ago when I was first looking into LLMs it was in my top 2-3 choices. If my personal circumstances were different I'd probably have still applied.

I was also basing some of my choices on how interdisciplinary the courses were. At LSE for example, I applied for the MSc in Human Rights because it suited by proposed research better. I was admitted and contemplating submitting a second application for the LLM, but they have limited room now in the program, so I won't bother.

ADH is still my #1 choice though.
