Can anyone help or advise. I am going to do an LLM in International Finance & Banking Law from the University of Liverpool's online programme or an MBA with specialism in finance online from Edinburgh Business School Heriot - Watt University . I have no experience in banking or finance and do not work in the industry however i am very keen to do so. Upon completion of either course what would the possibilities be of me securing an internship or a position as an analyst or associate remembering that i have no experience. Which of the afforementioned courses would be the best regarding securing a job in this industry or - AM I TOTALLY WASTING MY TIME AND MONEY - or would this be a worthwhile venture. I have an LLB HONS from LJMU. I would really appreciate any help advice and assistance from anyone in the industry or you guys in the know. kindest regards and thank you in anticipation, jim

I am not entirely positive that a distance course alone in these fields will get your foot immediately in the door. However, these are not my fields. That being said, additional knowledge in your preferred field will set you on the correct path. Your best plan would be to contact the schools to which you have applied and see if there is a way to speak with students who have also done the courses and what benefit they derived from doing so.
I did my LLM in International Law years ago at Edinburgh (not distance) and it didn't mean that doors were thrown open wide...I was also already qualified as a lawyer...so despite being initially a bit disappointed, it did serve me well further down the line.
Best of luck.
