Hi! Congratulations! They are sent via regular mail, but I called the Graduate Law Department and they sent it to me via e-mail. Not the official one, but still.. it works!
I also got admitted, but I still have to send some documentation from my exchange program in order for the offer to be "final" :s

Congratulations!! I'm still waiting for any update on my profile. I'm an architecture major, and I had applied early this Jan. I haven't heard anything from them and my status still says "ready for review" I'm so anxious right now, I'm now sure what should I do about my backup schools. Is there anyone else going into architecture?

@vbtz: Congrats to you too. Are you going to accept your offer?
@lindastone88: I'm not sure you can find many architecture majors here since the LLM Guide is about Law graduates pursuing their masters degree. I suggest you contact the admission office in your school, I have no idea how the admission process works for architecture.

Congrats to you all!

@adhoc : I've also been admitted to the LL.M non-thesis in the IASL (well, my status's changed on Minerva :-p) but I have neither received any letter of acceptance yet. Did you get anything or have any info?

Congrats lab78! I guess this means we'll be classmates next fall:)

No, I haven't received anything yet but as vbtz suggested I contacted the Graduate Law office and they emailed me a copy of my acceptance letter which basically just says I have been admitted, no further info. However, this is not official so I'm still waiting for the admission package to arrive. I feel a bit lost right now about what to do next and have tons of questions.

Nice to meet you then!

I have received my letter of acceptance through the post only today (maybe coz I live in France...). It shouldn't be longer for you now! I am admitted "pending final results" (well, I have to be conferred my French LL.M diplomas, and still taking the exams...).

Thank you for your reply, haha, I didn't even notice the name of the website, I saw "McGill" ... "admission," and I got really anxious
Thank you again, I'll try calling the admission office then

Hi, for all of you who will be starting your LLM at McGill in September, what are your hopes and plans in terms of career advancement upon completing your LLM ? Do you think you will obtain a teaching job at a law school with an LLM from McGill ? I'd appreciate your thoughts, as I'm considering applying to an LLM program in Canada. Thanks.

Hi everyone!

So when I got admitted my status stated "admitted pending final results" (my exchange program transcripts). I already sent them and now I do not know what to expect!

My letter of admission (the original one) hasn't arrived via mail... but by telephone I was told that I have until May 1st to make the first payment. Does anyone know something about that? Once you make said payment, what happens? What documentation comes with the letter of acceptance?

This process has been really annoying! but well...almost done, I guess!
Thanks!

I received my admission offer (3 copies) last week, but thats also all I got. I thought it was supposed to come in a package along with other information and a USB key (or so I remember reading somewhere) but it didnt.

Have you accepted you offer on Minerva yet? Maybe by first payment they mean the deposit you have to make when you accept the offer ($200 CAD)? Thats the only payment Ive made so far. After that you get your personal McGill email and student account, but apart from that nothing else happens.

As I understand you dont pay any tuition fees until the university receives all your legal documents (like CAQ, potential international fee waiver documents and such). Ater that they tell you the exact amount of tuition fee that applies for you please correct me if I got this part wrong.

Youre right, this whole process really is annoying and confusing. Not to mention the whole study permit process Im dealing with right now and possible housing problems that are yet to come. Oh well, but looking forward to meeting you all in Montreal!

Hello everyone!

I had also applied to McGill and subsequently I was notified on 6th March about me being recommended by the Graduate Admissions Committee. Thereafter My status in Minerva changed to "Admitted Pending Final Results" and still upon checking my status on Minerva, it is showing the same. I haven't received any document or letter via mail from McGill. I read in McGill's website that the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies office takes 2-6 weeks to notify about formal acceptance but it has been almost 6 weeks and I haven't yet been notified.

I am an applicant from India and I am Interested in pursuing a General LL.M (Non-Thesis) with concentration in "Human Rights and Cultural Diversity".

Satyajit,

Taking in consideration my experience I think that once you were recommended by the Faculty, you Minerva Status stated precisely that. Afterwards, when the University admitted you your Minerva Status changed to Admitted Pending Final Results.

That means that you have been admitted, but first you have to send something extra. In my case I had send my exchange transcripts.. you can check what do you need in the checklist in your page.

Also, you can call the Graduate Office and ask for them to send you a copy of your letter via e-mail. I suppose the original one has already been sent to you...

Afterwards you send your final results, I do not know what happens.. LOL.

@ vbtz! First of all I would like to thank you for replying to my post. Yes! you are right I have to send them something extra and that will be my "Final LL.B Transcript". Unfortunately I cannot send them the same right now as I will be graduating in May 2012 and the final transcript will be given to us upon graduation. Also unfortunately I haven't yet received any letter from McGill but I have already written to them about sending me the original copy of my letter of offer. Anyways, I am accepting the offer by making payment of the required amount via Minerva.

Looking forward to meet you this fall in Montreal

Hi All!

I too have been admitted to the McGill LLM program with Graduate Excellence Fellowship. I am waiting for the formal offer through mail though..

Wanted your views on which university would be better for pursing an LLM, McGill or Univerity of Toronto. I have not been offered any funding from UoT.
Any opinion.view would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hi all!

I too have applied for the LLM Non Thesis in Comparative Law. I have completed my LLB in France (European Law) and am still waiting for an answer... I called a little less than two weeks ago to have a bit more info, and they told me my file was actually being reviewed by the admission committee. Since then, nothing has changed, and my minerva status is still the same...
This is starting to stress me out a bit... I've heard from the previous years that some students have had answers in may...It seems like I'll be one of them...any info to share?

Best of luck to all for your choices!

Hey!

My husband is looking for admission in LLM in Canada next year. He is going to continue his studies after 8 years. He has been working for couple of years. Please let us know about well reputed universities. What are the tuition fees? We are looking for something in the range of $15000- $18000. Is LLM a one year course everywhere?
