Dear All,

Appears that we have to be in Singapore before 31st July as the registration date is 31st July. Just received a mail from NUS detailing the Pre-registration, Registration and Module Selection Process

I was wondering about that too as there has been no mention of that.

Have any of you received your In Principle Approval (IPA) Letter? The June 25 letter from NUS states that if we receive a firm offer and our SOLAR application has been approved, we are to receive a PDF copy of the IPA Letter shortly in our e-mail. I haven't received any.

Thanks, aishnat.

Was the IPA letter sent to you by NUS or by the ICA? Thanks in advance.

hi Atfirst...

In the same site where u filled in the SOLAR and filled in the ICA....u would get to know the status of your application....in the event it says it is approved, give it about 3 to four days to get the IPA letter which will be sent by the NU.....

Warm regards
Raman

Thanks for your prompt replies!

I already e-mailed NUS regarding this and they have responded saying that they will send the IPA letter within the week. :)

hi aish,

log onto the URL they have mentioned in the first para under Course information and Module registration in the welcome letter they have sent on 25th June.

Before logging in, u need to check out what are the compulsory core courses u are mandated to take...then check out the time table and get it written down....u have to then opt for electives and ensure that the electives you are taking do not clash in terms of time table set out there...please ensure that if there is written exam as part of final evaluation, the same does not clash....

once you are down to 5 courses in all (totaling to 20 credits) ensure again that the time table is on a stand alone basis for all the courses....then u need to collate the module number which is given there and then go to the URL and log in with ur student number and slot out ur courses.....ensure that your personal details given there are correct.....(once u log in the details gets generated auto)

the Nu system automatically generates a mail to on the core and the electives you have opted for.....if you are from a common law background country....please send a mail to lawgradadmn (the usual mail id we use for all our correspondence so far) requesting for exemption from common law reasoning and writing and common legal system of Singapore (check the second and third para of course information and module registration of welcome letter)..usually if you send the mail in the morning....you will get the exemption mail the same day itself.....

please ensure that the same is done before 2nd july....and the site works over the weekend also for generating the system generated mail.

trust you finalise ur modules...and electives.....all the best...

Hey!

Thanks for the update...I figured the system...

But it appears that CFS guys from common law jurisdictions don't have compulsory courses...Is that correct?

Also, one needs to choose elective courses from the specialization pool totalling to 20 credits a sem right?

if you have compulsory or core course.....which am sure you would have considering that you are going in for specialisation (in my case am opting for LLM (general) for the first sem in any case), that would be included for the purpose of totalling to a credit of 20......so ideallly you would be looking at about 5 subjects of 4 crredits each ....rite...?

Yeah! But the core seems to be an 8 credit one and depends on the electives also. There r some 8 credit electives. So u could be doing only three courses for 20 credits instead of 5.
