MS4ever,

Per my understanding:

1. The 10 subjects are applicable only for the Sem 1. Out of these 10, we shall be studying only 5. For Sem 2, there will be new set of subjects to choose from.

2. Yes you can choose subjects from the other specializations, provided you enroll for atleast 24 credits from the subjects of your core specialization. The course credits are mentioned where the course details are provided.

Saloni,

You do not need to download the form. It is to be filled and submitted online. Once you submit, the system will email you a copy of the form. Hope this helped.

Hi

I'm also join IBL program. Didn't we have to select subjects 2 weeks before exam???

"This election will have to be indicated on a Course Option Form to be submitted 2 to 3 weeks before the examination period in each semester"

However, If your first law degrees are from common law countries, you will be exempted from the two
courses Common Law Reasoning and Writing and Common Law of Obligations. Thus, you can choose to take any of the intensive elective courses before 30 June (email your choices to NUS) or choose to take 10 of the remaining 11 courses available in the IBL.

Hi CHompoo,

Yes, that's what I thought too. For the exception of elective courses, then we have to email NUS by 30/6/2010.

But the others, we are suppose to register before exams... so I wonder where does this subject registration thing come from?

Hi Saffron,

I actually got the idea from this discussion and not sure whether IBL student has to fill subject registration form or not since I don't want to take any elective subject. And up until now, I didn't do anything regarding subject choices.

you can find the subject reg. form here https://law.nus.edu.sg/current/course/subreg/course_option_sem1.asp

Hi guys,

I actually wrote to NUS to clarify this whole subject registration thing for IBL.

So, according to the email from NUS and the course info, you only need to confirm the subjects that you'll be sitting for examination at the end of each semester.

But you want to pick an elective subject, you need to inform them via email by 30/6//2010

Hi,

I have a question regarding the mode of fee payment. According to the welcome letter we have to pay via bank draft while cash will not be accepted. Does anyone know whether there is the possibility to pay the fee via bank account transfer? Or is the bank draft the only way?

Many thanks!

Hi!

I've made a request to the NUS on this issue and got a reply that bank draft is the only way to make tuition fee payment (I can't make a bank transfer from my home country). I'm still not quite clear about this payment method as we generally don't use in my country...

Getting the medical tests done in Singapore is a very good idea. I got them done on Monday. The University Health Center processes some 5000 students every year, so the system is very much in place you need not worry about any test being left out or anything. It will cost you S$45 for all the tests and the result with be given in a week's time. They do not charge for disposable gowns for X-rays also. Just make sure to book online with enough time in hand, since this is the peak period and the slots are getting booked quickly.

Hi Ana!

I got the same answer from NUS that we can only pay by bank draft. I called my bank and asked them to issue a bank draft in the name of NUS. The draft will then be sent by DHL to the University. Not very practical, this payment mode. And not cheap either...
