Mr Tan
I am a law student in India, currently in the penultimate year. I would want to apply later this year for the NYU@NUS program in 2010 and I wanted to enquire if I can apply, and get conditional admission since my results wont be out in October 09 and i'll have another semester to study. Moreover my 7th semester result cant be calculated in aggregate because i missed an exam due to meeting with an accident.
Ive been worried sick about this, so if could let me in on how it works.
Thankyou

Hello every1....I got my acceptance from NUS a few days ago :) really excited 2 go 2 Singapore!!!!any1 else got any positive reply??

Congrats Whistle!
I'm really nervous now that I hear that someone has gotten decisions. By e-mail, correct?
Just out of curiosity, what is the background of the average applicant? I'm only graduating out of undergrad this coming June in the U.S. and I'm wondering if everyone else has a background in law already... I'd feel like I'm behind from everyone else and have to play catch up.

Thanks Shinkirou :) I have gotta e-mail from them. I don't have much of an idea as to what r they looking for. I am completing my undergrad in Law in April. So, mine is a conditional offer which will become unconditional once I send my final transcript to the Graduate Office.
Don't worry. Keep ur fingers crossed and hope 4 da best :)

But I heard and saw Mr. Tan reply that results wood be released by 1st April.
So how come one person received the offer. One more thing , will a person get an intimation for rejection via email?

yes we will be told via email. Also it might take time because there are lots of applicants.Does anyone know what kind of scores they are looking for?I'm form India so what is the percentile you are required to have.
Posted Mar 30, 2009 13:43
the word that has usually been around is that they look for 65% and above.. but Mr. Tan has emphasised quite a few times that they look at the overall package.
surprisingly, we have never come to know about this one particular criteria despite this forum going on over the years. the percentage issue has never been discussed once all the admissions are announced, becomes a thankless exercise actually- one is obviously engrossed in celebrating his/ her success story and finding out who are the other people joining.
whatever it is, I feel that NUS definitely remains much more competitive than most UK/ US varsities leaving the creme de' la creme aside... so, the percentage has to play a significant, if not the biggest role in successful admission.

guys, i hve gotta an early offer bcoz i emailed NUS asking 4 my results as I hve got an offer 4m UCL and I had to make a decision on acceptance. I guess u guys shud contact NUS if u guys dnt hear 4m them by 1st. They do email rejections
Posted Mar 30, 2009 15:21
don't think its a wise idea to contact NUS at this point of time. they'd be busy the whole first week of April sending offers to the successful applicants. may be it'l be better to wait patiently for our respective emails rather than emailing our queries. Of course, for candidates like Whistle, its a very practicabe solution and really nice on the part of NUS to send an early offer.
Congrats Whistle for the double sundae!! what would you choose now- UCL or NUS?
