Top LL.M. Programs for Media Law / Entertainment Law 2024

A stone’s throw from Hollywood, the University of Southern California’s USC Gould School of Law puts on an LL.M. with a concentration in Media and Entertainment Law. Students receive, in addition to a general LL.M. degree, a certificate in Media and Entertainment Law that demonstrates to employers specialized training in this exciting and growing area of the information economy.

Loyola Law School, in Los Angeles runs an LL.M. specialization in Entertainment and New Media Law, which takes advantage of Loyola's prime location in downtown LA, one of the world’s foremost media capitals. Much of the content is taught by leading practitioners in the field. The law school is ranked as being one of the best in the country by US News, a respected publication. 

The Los Angeles-based Southwestern Law School offers an LL.M. program specializing in Entertainment and Media Law, recognized as one of the most comprehensive in the nation. Through the Donald E. Biederman Entertainment and Media Law Institute, Southwestern equips practicing attorneys and recent law graduates with the skills needed for successful careers in creative industries such as film, television, music, theater, advertising, sports, and news media. The program offers a unique externship program with placements in more than 50 settings, including studios, guilds, agencies, and law firms. Students also have access to the Entertainment and the Arts Legal Clinic, providing legal services to independent filmmakers and creative artists, as well as an Entertainment Law Firm Practicum.
