Hi everyone,
Since uPenn extended the deadline in December (30 extra days to send the application because of LSAC problems), do you know if they are still planning on sending the results by February 1st (for the Early Application process)?
Thanks, and good luck to all of us :)

Will uPenn announce the results by February 1st?

I have been asking myself the same question...My understanding is that in their e-mail regarding the extended deadline, there was no word about the date of sending the results. If they had changed the date, I think they would probably have sent one notice to this effect. Therefore, I think the date is still February 1st. But, as I have no official information, this may be just wishful thinking (hope not).

Any news from Penn ?

Oh God, it's already the 30th and I haven't heard anything from them...

Did you happen to know that anybody hear anything from Upenn already?
Me heard not.

guys, I applied there too and I did not heard anything yet.
By the way, it sounds strange that they will notify over 900 hundred responses in the same day while they had to postpone the deadline for technical problems less than two months ago.
I wouldn't bet on it.
Anyway, fingers crossed and keep waiting two more days!

How did you come to know that the applicants are over 900?
Anyway, I guess they will only send out admission notices on Feb. 1, not the rejection notice...

Gevurah,
I've just made a comparison to last year's number of applications. It shouldn't be so far from it.
So, you guess that just those who have been admitted will receive an email by the 1st... mmm.... why shouldn't you have a negative response if you were assured the "early notification"? The only logical answer is that, in that case, they will reevaluate your application in a second round, otherwise they would have notified you a definitive rejection.
Anyway, I am sure someone in this forum will get an admission by the 1st so that the others can have an idea.
We just have to wait.

Gevurah, I haven't heard of anyone who have received a response from Penn. But I don't believe that 100% of the 900 applicants are entitled to the early response. I'm planning to call the admissions office if I don't hear from them till February 1st.
If any of you guys get a response, please let us know! Good luck to all! :)

It is confirmed: they will really send admissions on February 1st.

only admissions or all decisions....rejections/waiting list?
Posted Jan 31, 2006 01:05
In their website they state that
"Candidates who submit completed applications online prior to the December 1 Early Notification deadline, and who ensure that the Law School receives all supporting documents by the same date, will receive a response [note: a response can be admission, rejection or wait list] by February 1." (of course we know that the deadline was extended).
Therefore, a decision, whatever it is, will be made, by February 1st, to every application to which was granted "Early Notification" status; and they confirmed to me they would comply with this deadline.
This does not mean that they will notify 900 people on the same day, because not everyone submitted an application within the pre-established deadline.

How do you know that you have been granted an 'early notification status'? I have completed my online application on november 1st and a few days later my online status check indicated that all documents had been received. But I did not receive any explicit notification of my application being completed by the early notification deadline or anything.
Well, I might be worrying to much, but I am getting a bit curious now.

Mila, if your online status check was ok you shouldn't worry.
I haven't received an explicit receipt either, but when I wrote them in december about a missing document they apoligized about the delay and told me that everything was right with no reference to the early-notification term.
I am sure you'll receive a response tomorrow.
Good luck.

Goodluck Everyone!

I couldn't stop myself and emailed them: Here is their response:
"On February 1, we intend to notify all Early Notification candidates either that they have been admitted to the LLM class; that their applications have been rejected; or that, before making a definitive decision, the Committee will have to consider their credentials in the context of the general applicant pool. You should be receiving your
notification shortly! Feel free to contact us via email with any
further inquiries."
