USC or WUSTL-urgent appeal

leslie

hi all.
i know this time most of the students have decided their llm universities. but unfortunately i just got WUSTL's ad few days ago , and the feedback deadline is 1,May, so i'm very confused on which school to choose between USC and WUSTL, hope you could help me , thx very much.

i have been working for 5 years, and will definitely come back to my home country after graduate from llm. that's my background .

in my opinion, USC has wonderful location, but it also has bad reputation; on the other hand , WUSTL has great reputation , much higher in comprehensive ranking (13, while USC ranks 23), but the location for WUSTL seems not so good.
above all , i'm very confused , don't know how to choose , sincerely want some advices, especially about the academic quality or the studying experience, thx a lot...

You're wrong to think USC has a bad reputation. It is a highly regarded law school. Best of luck to you.

Dear Leslie,

I am currently pursuing a Master of Laws at USC and I am extremely happy with the school. Faculty is comprimised of highly competent professionals and the staff of the G&IP (Graduate and International Programs) office is always very helpful. Also, USC has a great location; L.A is definitely a city with many opportunities and amazing weather!!!

Best, Ane Saraiva.

I am from Southern California and I can tell you USC is in the worst location possible... it's in the absolute worst part of LA, probably the worst part of entire Southern California.

With that said, it has a gorgeous student body and a great sports culture. The school's academic reputation is great in California, and still very good throughout the nation... and yes... it is quite a party school but that's mostly just the undergrads.

Don't know much about WUSTL, so can't say much there.

Good luck!
