US Resume

Zei

Hello everybody,

I have a question in regard of American customs towards resumes or CV's as we say in Europe.

When I apply for a job in the US, I usually wouldn't put the following information:

-birthday
-marital status
-picture
-gender
-nationalities.

Does this also apply for the LL.M applications?

Thanx!

If you are submitting your resume for a US LLM program, then it would be best to submit it in the US format.

As far as I know, a US style resume would NOT include
-birthday
-marital status
-picture
-gender
-nationalities

Non-discrimination issues etc.

There are a lot of very good US books that help you create a very good US resume within no time.

I for example used "The Resume Handbook" that I can highly recommend. It is available in Europe at Amazon for example for just 7 Euro an it is definitely worth it.

Especially for us Europeans who have never done a US resume before, a little guidance is helpful.
