I have applied for Harvard, NYU (NYC regular cycle) and Columbia (regular cycle)- does anyone know when we can expect decisions or has anyone already received a decision from any of these? As far as I have heard are decision expected for Columbia first (starting mid FEb) then NYU (starting end FEb) and Harvard last (third week of March)...
Is this true or has anyone heard any different? Has anyone even had a decision already??
the waiting is killing me!

Columbia: I'm surprised that so few decisions have been released (I know someone who was accepted about 2 weeks ago) so far... As it's a rolling basis process, they should have released some decisions.
NYU and Harvard: nothing untill March.
I'm also waiting for other schools' decisions, and indeed I'm impatient.

I received an admissions package from NYU (tax) during the first week of January. I was fully expecting to wait until March/April as well. So who knows.

So far, I have been admitted to NYU (NYC based LLM in trade regulation). I was admitted early because I was also admitted to NYU@NUS....
I'm still waiting for Columbia though...It seems it's going to be a long, long wait...
I know about two people from my country who have already been admitted....However, it seems they were early review applicants...Nonetheless, that's rocketfuel for my anxiety, because it seems these universities have quotas for students from abroad!!

Thanks!
I sent my application on December 07, 2009.
Actually they sent the e-mail yesterday, but I read it only this morning because of the jet lag (I live in Switzerland).

I aslo applied to Harvard and Stanford, but no answer so far...
I gradued at the University of Geneva (1st rank) and then I passed the Geneva Bar Examinations. At present I'm working at the University of Geneva.
I sincerely hope you will also receive positive answers soon!

Congrats. So, did you send your application on December, 7 or have you received your confirmation on december, 7? I hope so much that I will get into CLS.

Well, after learning about your credentials, it is clear that you are in a class of your own (Ranked 1st in your class)
I pretty much doubt that any university would reject you or even delay your admission....You are one of those "sure picks"...
As for the rest of us, we´ll have to wait...Our credentials may be good but not as good as OlivierCH´s....CLS may be offering admission to these people first, deciding on the "just above average" candidates later this spring...That´s where most of us probably fall....

@OliverCH's - Did you get any scholarships along with your acceptance letter???
Posted Jan 27, 2010 17:59
@ Olivier:
I am from Züri and also applied to CLS. Didn't get an answer yet though. Do you know of other Swiss who were admitted yet?

@dierome: I'm not convinced that the rank in your class is that important. They are many other qualities that can be essential to these Universities. Anyway, I hope you will soon receive a positive answer.
@Viper32: unfortunately I didn't get any scholarships...

I think that the rank is a very important issue with respect to the top ten schools in the US.
@dierome: That is what I have been told. There are three types of candidates: The one that you simply cannot refuse...the one that are good to go but fall back behind the first ones and lastly, the ones you would not accept even if they would spend a gift of 10 Million Dollars:-)

@OlivierCH: But it sure helps a lot...You are an honors student, just like CLS requires...Have you engaged in any legal extracurricular activity? (Moot court, law review, etc)

@jayjayjay: Grüezi! If you visit the group "Columbia Law School Class of 2011", there's one guy from Bern, but I don't know him. That's it.
Viel Glück!
