I am applying to several Tax LLM programs starting on Fall 06 Term (NYU, Georgetown, Harvard, Columbia, Michigan), and I sent all applications before November, 15th. For the time being, Harvard had not acknowledged yet that my file is complete, NYU did that 3-4 days after the date I sent them the materials, and Columbia 1-2 days later. Regarding Georgetown, it has issued the admissions decisions in respect of early action applicants a couple of days ago.

Hi there!

I obtained my law degree in Colombia South America and I will be applying for the NYU LLM starting in September, 2006. Does anyone one know if diplomas and transcripts that one must submit with the application must be legalized by Apostille or is it enough with a copy certified by a public notary and certified translation of such documents?

I mean what requirements such documents should fulfill in order to be acceptable by the University?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

As far as I know, it is not necessary that the documents are legalized via Apostille - in my case, I obtained certified copies of my transcripts issued by my university, and I had them translated into English by a sworn-in translator. I would dare to say it would be enough.
