I would appreciate any input on this. I'm at T1 around 30ish ranked school. < 25% with 3.49 GPA. Executive editor for a secondary journal. A- in Fed tax. Strong recommendation letter from Tax professor who went to NYU LLM in Tax, who co authored a textbook with NYU LLM tax faculty.

Also, do I have a chance of getting Tax Law Review scholarship?
Posted Oct 24, 2012 21:55
I think you would have a great chance. Are there anymore tax courses you could take? Have you been working/volunteering for tax type employment?

I am taking international tax next semester. I have not had an opportunity to participate in tax internships as I summered with firms all 2 years.

I would still think you have a good chance. Have you finished your applications yet and submitted them?
I am actually unsure how they view transcripts. I don't know if they lock you in now or wait until the next semester.

Who knows... What were your numbers?

top 20% lower 100 school. 3.7 gpa in tax classes(only 2 completed; but will have completed 6 by graduation) and have only worked for tax clinics and government related to tax. LOR from NYU llm Alum and respect tax professor + Employer.
I submitted my applications but no idea how they will pan out.

I do think you have a great shot though. Just make sure to explain in your PS that you have a great interest in tax law(im sure your LOR stated you do). Your grades show that you have a mind for tax law as well.
Hopefully we will both get great news.
My real question is does anyone know how long after completed it takes to get an answer?

Oh and I was business major.
Hopefully we both get accepted.
From my understanding, it takes a while for the completion.

I have a JD from top tier (top 25) law school; GPA 3.5 with top A in tax. Would like to get an LLM in a top tier US law school. Does anyone know about admission and scholarship criteria?
