Stanford - Admissions thread

Eden_K

This thread is for people interested in the admission decision status of Stanford's LLM Programs and the SPILS.
As Stanford interviews, it would be great to know
1. whether people have already been interviewed and for what program;
2. What the questions were;
3. Whether they have been admitted or not.

1. Interviewed last Friday for the SPILS.

2. More a friendly chat than an interview (maybe a benefit of being older...)

3. Just received admission e-mail. No news on financial aid yet (supposedly included in official letter to arrive via mail).

4. Feeling great, but wondering if I will be able to put together all the pieces to attend this year!

Congrats to those admitted and all the best to the others!

From what I heard, no news may still be good news!

Hi,

I got admitted to the SPILS yesterday after a short phone chat.

I submitted my application at the deadline in December, though it was complete in early February only after two references went astray.

Really happy! Good luck to everyone else!

Hi guys,

Just got a call from SLS, for a quick "interview" (more like a friendly chat). No decision, however.

The interviewer told me that they might be releasing decisions in two weeks.

Just for your reference, Im a candidate for the LL.M. in Law, Science & Technology.

Best of luck for all of us!

Hi Maddie
Can you please share some info about yourself? such as where do you come from? and what profile experience you inked in application? thanks!

Hi, Putou, thank you for sharing this. Which program did you apply, LLM or SPILS?

So, they may be doing a program per week.

Does anybody know what the deferral policy is?

From what I've read in this forum (from last year posts), they don't accept deferral to the next year.

They have so many applicants for so few seats, they don't want to defer, and they also give almost no scolarship :/

But as I'm not 100% sure, you should ask them by email ;)

I received a call last Thursday. They told me that decisions will be released in two weeks. I am Brazilian and I am applying for the LLM in Science and Technology. Will let you know about any developments. If any of you are also Brazilian, let's share.
Best,

It seems that some applicants got admitted to SLS without telephone interview according to the posts last year. I also know someone who got waitlisted even after a telephone interview in the past.

I am curious with the standard they use to decide to "call" or "not to call"...
