When we request for a reference letter from a faculty or employer should we specifiy a one page limit or can it exceed one page but less than 2 pages?

in my opinion one page is enough. Is it wrong?

Unless the school specifies, I can't imagine asking the prof./employer to limit the good things s/he has to say about u!
