If you wanna stay in the US, NYU is probably the best choice.
Otherwise, I think it's all quite equal (NYU has a better ranking though)

Thanx Maximus....stayin back in the US is not a necessity....though i would luv to pick up some amount of experience there....but the main confusion seems to be over UPENN and NYU....NYU is in the heart of the big apple and Upenn is 95 miles away....thats why the confusion.....at the same time.....upenn is ivy league and nyu is not...but at the end of the day i guess it should be nyu.

I wanted to say in my last post 'NYU has a better ranking though'
But Ivy league is also an argument of course.
Anyhow, I think it doesn't really matter for your future career what university (penn or nyu) you choose. Both are very good. I think other aspects of your curriculum vitae will be far more important than having nyu/penn on your cv instead of the opposite...
If I were you, I would definitely chose the university (and neighborhood: big city or not) you feel more comfortable with. There is more in life than just the possible (!) opinion of some fucked up law firms ;)
Last, I want you to know that I 'm just a future LL.M myself and that there are probably better placed persons to give you some advice... But remember: Quot capita, tot sententiae. In the end, you must make your own decision.

Hello everyone
I have a dilemma and i truly hope you can help me. I've been accepted at Michigan and need to give them an answer by the end of March. However, i have also applied to other law schools, and have not yet received definitive answers (on waiting list for Penn, etc.).
Does any one of you know what would happen if i accepted the Michigan offer and later decided to take it back? What would be the consequences? Has anyone ever done anything similar?
I ask this because some schools might communicate their decisions in April, yet i have to reply to Mich before then.
Thanks!

In, too.
Congrats to those who where accepted, and good luck to those who were waitlisted.
Please note that, according to the very nice Assistant Dean at Penn, scholarships, tuition waivers, admissions to the Wharton Certificate program, and some research positions are not generally decided until later in March.
Best,
-JC-
Many thanks for the info. I got my acceptance on December but I am still waiting for the addmision to the Wharton Certificate.

Hi all- Dunno if that helps but I'll probably refuse U.Penn's admission for NYU.
I kno Penn is Ivy, but I thought Ivy only meant the oldest LS (correct me if Im wrong), its prestigeous for sure but at the end of the day NYU has a better rank.
Wat do u guys think ?
Thank you-----and all the best !
