One-year internship

I comprehend that it is difficult to obtain permanent work after you finish your LLM. Is this the same with the one-year internship many schools say they will help you out with? I want to do an internship in North-Carolina after finishing school there (as I have family there...). But all this talk about difficulties getting a job got me worried.

This is a quote from Wake Forest:

"Internships
The Optional Practical Training provisions of U.S. student visa regulations permit U.S. internships for up to one year after graduation from the LLM program.

Our LLM program participates in the prestigious New York University International Student Interview Program held in January of each year. The NYU International Student Interview Program is a consortium co-sponsored by 29 U.S. law schools. Approximately 150 international law firms and companies review resumes of LLM students and issue invitations to interview for both internships and permanent positions."

But it seems none of these threads say anything about getting a job outside NY. I am not interested in big law firms in the big city. Ah well, guess I need to get lucky ;) and start looking for jobs in NC right when I get there (if I get in).
