For2010 -- that's probably the one way to put a negative on getting an acceptance letter. Good luck getting that resolved.
I don't know if there is a separate pool for FT and PT students, but I would assume they do at least differentiate in making offers so that they don't wind up with too many of one and too few of the other. That's not to say that all PT apps are compared only to PT apps... I would think it makes sense to compare the all of the apps together and then accept the best of the group, trying to stick to the PT% and FT% want.
I do know that I read you can apply to transfer from PT to FT after one semester, but the decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.

mw3L08 - i agree and thus very frustrated. i want to say that it must have been the computers, but the impression to admissions is probably that i'm too clumsy be a tax lawyer.
it is somewhat reassuring if there it isn't actually a separate pool...i hope it doesn't take like another month for them to reject me.

I originally applied part-time and then had to request they switch my app to full-time. The admissions people told me to email my request to gradlaw@exchange.law.nyu.edu, which is likely where you should send your request as well. The request had to be submitted to a committee and it took about a week for them to get back to me. Hope that's helpful to you in some way.

photobug - thanks so much.
did it take them a week to get back to you with a final decision, or to let you know that your application is on review for FT instead of PT?
and if you don't mind my asking, when did you ask to switch? i'm hoping it will be quick, since it is almost may now. i would rather know sooner, one way or the other...i'm sure this is how everyone waiting feels, so apologies for the anxiety...

No worries, about the anxiety. I asked them to switch it on March 18 and they got back to me about a week later letting me know that it was switched to a full-time application. I'm still waiting to hear whether i'm actually admitted.

Wow. That's awful... Sorry to hear that. At least out have great stats... You should still get in. I'd call today in addition to emailing.

photobug - thanks so much again; it definitely helps. good luck!
nehushtan - thanks for the condolence. i called, and they told me to send in the request in writing...so i guess it's wait time again.

Another week without any word for me. Maybe I was wrong in my thinking that the decisions would come fairly quickly after the April 15th responses were due.
Here's to hoping!

I also have heard nothing. Is the consensus that not having heard by now means that you're probably "on the bubble," so to speak? I know that many have heard already one way or the other.
I live in AZ, and it takes mail awhile to get here from NY, but I have also heard that NYU has been sending notifications via email, so I think they probably just haven't made a decision on me yet. It would be nice to know soon. Any input is welcome.

i'm guessing no word. hopefully somebody will hear something soon.

I haven't heard anything yet... but I still have hope to hear soon.
To be honest, I'd be elated to get an acceptance, but I'd really just like to hear a decision either way so I can end the waiting and have a little more certainty about the upcoming year.

What is the new deposit deadline for those recently accepted? I'm still waiting for the Trade Regulation program (sorry if off topic), but it seems that acceptances in any area have been few the past couple of weeks.

any part-time applicant here? I feel kind of alone.

phisher - yep.
