NYU is good, right?

gcvc: i totally agree with you about columbias reputation and also that an ivy league would help my resume as i have no work experience. About what you asked what i do what to with International Law, i got accepted in this course only , also at Columbia i got into their Graduate Legal Studies Program so its not like i have a choice as to which program i can enroll in. So what would you suggest now, keeping in mind that i have no choice but to do international Legal Studies and then between Columbia with all its pro's and with NYU having the best International Law Program.
what now?

@gcvc:
I loved your post! It's very sincere, given the fact that you've finally opted for NYU? Would you go there were it not for the Hauser?

@Maria_Gri:
Have you decided anything on financing yet? Will you take a loan?

I have just discovered the board discussion LLM and I am really surprising for how many things the people chating here know about the different law schools.
Well, reading your comments, I have become very worried because I have only received an acceptance from NYU and I have no news from Harvard and Columbia. I am quite happy with NYU's acceptance but the specialization that I have applied is Corporate governance and I think Harvard and Columbia have a better reputation and faculty. I have been working three years as a corporate lawyer in Spain and I would like to go on focusing on the same but with an international education. Does anyone know what is the reputation of the corporations specialization in NYU? and if I have any chance to receive an acceptance from Harvard and Columbia, taking into account that so far I have not received any answer.
Thanks a million!!!!!!

that is a good point GCVC.. I am a corporate lawyer in a top 5 Indian law firm. My area is corporate laws

So how would a Top tier US firm view an LLM from NYU specialising in corporations with a certificate in law and business and an LLM from Columbia?

In terms of recruitment esp of a foreign trained LLM what would be a good school to go to?

I'am wating for Michigan to tell me if they give me a fellowship... If not - Ohhhh, yeah, I guess, except for a miracle, it will be a loan hunting... the question is that in our countries, education loans are not very well developed. Do you know any Russian banks that give such loans, on what conditions? And what is your final choice? UK?

To Gabyflies:
Harvard has already sent its offers by e-mail, if you haven't got it - you still have a chance to be on their waiting list. call them to find out.
As to Columbia, I received my admission e-mail only two days ago, so there is still a chance for you.
Good luck :))

I got accepted to both Colombia and NYU. I choose NYU moslty because it has a better reputation internationally. I know you wrote that people from poland and Korea never heard of NYU. That is certainly not the case in Europe, I am am from London and NYU is one of the most renound schools in the world.
