Hi!

I asked this question last year to Timothy Stanne who is the Assistant Dean for Graduate Admissions. He said, "if you reach the 500 word limit in the middle of a sentence then finish the sentence but don't try to write another paragraph".

My guess is 550 words is still within their usual limit.

Great, thanks a lot for you answer.

I've also asked Timothy a few days ago but hasn't get back to me yet. I hope that's not gonna affect my application :(

I know and you're right. My personal statement is a very "american kind of statement" and was original 980 words so I had to reduce it as much as possible without taking off its magic ... :)

Hi guys, I applied for International Legal Studies Program - do you think the result will come out around the same time as the traditional LL.M program? Some of the folks applying for Tax program have started getting their acceptance already.

Admission to the Tax LLM is different but the rest of the NYU LLM programs will be mid-March. The Admissions Office will say the very same if you call them.

Does anyone know if there is an option at NYU to switch an LL.M. program, e.g. from Corporation LL.M. to Traditional LL.M. (in my case). I may be counting the chickens before, but want to be prepared for a request if I am offered a slot.

Many thanks.

With the exception of Tax LLM, I believe you are able to switch fairly easily between the other LLM streams prior to registration.

That's great to know. Thanks very much Nipsa. Just to clarify, do you know/ know of anyone who was able to make such a switch - it's always helpful to know that such a thing has actually happened in the past. Thanks again.

Yes, I have a friend who switched from a specialist to traditional the year before last. However, my response was a really a reflection on what a member of the NYU admissions office said at the LSAC forum. I would advise ringing them directly on this point if it is factor in your decision-making.

Hey Nipsa,

Thanks very much for the details. I will do so once we cross that bridge. Thanks again.

No admission offer yet?

The "requirements list" of my status checker page went blank. It seems that admissions will be offered soon.

Mine is blank too. I cannot remember whether it has always been blank or not though.

I just checked mine and it is not blank, so I think its good for you; let us know whether your page is restored and if it had any changes.

My requirements list also went blank!

I wonder what this means?!

I think we're probably still due to hear in about a month.
