Congratulations to all admitted students !!
I have not submitted my academic year housing application yet.

Do someone know if it's first come first served ?

And do someone has already been assigned an appartement?

Congratulations! Which program will you be doing? I am doing the tax program. NYU recommends turning the housing application in early, but the actual deadline is sometime in early May. They use a lottery system, but there is supposed to be enough housing that everyone can be accomodated (although it may not be your first choice). However, if you need family housing, then you should submit the application ASAP b/c I think those decisions are made before the lottery.

For anyone not applying for student housing - are you planning to take a trip to NYC over the summer to find a place? Or just show up in August and try to find one?

I'm trying for student housing, but if I can't get one of my 4 selections, then I was going to look for housing near the law school. If I end up having to do that, then I was going to visit NYC for a couple days in mid-July to see what I can find.

By the way, there is a listing of outside apartments/roommates available through NYU. It is on either the NYU.org website (where we access our student e-mail accounts) or the admitted students website --can't remember which.

Housing is exp in NYU! I guess that's an understatement. Not very keen on on-campus housing, but would apply anyways.

I would also be in NYC early July to find housing. I hope on-campus decisions can wait till then?

Have had a look on the off-campus housing website, you get mostly housing that are available now. Had just contacted someone for a studio apt and it was taken.

If anyone has extra tips on housing, I'd like to know pls.
