oooowwww
I am so worried, I was in Italy the last 2 weeks and had no internet in my hotelroom so had to rely on internet cafes.
Before I left I had mailed and faxed all my scholarship paperwork....SO I THOUGHT....
I just read on the admited student website about this suplemental form...
I never read about it before, and got admited after they send out the email.
I just printed it and faxed it but sure do hope I still have a chance to get a scholarship and or grant....
If anyone hasnt send the SUPLEMENTAL form, do so ASAP.
It's on the admited website, and it's not that easy to find!
Just wanted to make sure no one made the same mistake I did!

Wait a minute, I got confused. I haven't registered for the admitted student site yet and didn't know the supplementary forms. I followed the instruction of "2009-10 Application Instructions for International LLM and LLM/K applicants". I assumed that would be sufficient. Was I wrong? Maybe I should write to ask them when my fellowship application is complete..

Hi guys,

I am from India and practising for a corporate law firm for 3 years now. I have got admitted into NU and I am most likely to go there.

But at the same time I have also got an admission to Warwick for the ICGFR LLM course. And my sole interest is to specialise in corporate laws and thereafter try to stick on abroad either in the U.S. or U.K by just doing an LLM and not a J.D. I do know that NU is really famous for corporate law, but what would you say about the course at Warwick considering it is really specialised. I have also got an admit to queen mary.

So I have just one question:

Leaving aside the monetary aspect of an LLM, do global law firms value an LLM from the U.S more than a U.K. LLM, assuming for a moment that the LLM is not from the best in the business such as SLS, HLS, YLS, CLS (USA) and Oxford, Cambridge & LSE.(UK). Cause here for me its more of a comparison between good colleges in the U.S such as NU, USC, Boston, Virginia versus Warwick and Queen Marry.

Btw Congrats to all of you on your admissions and best of luck.

Thanks in advance.

I wrote an email to Ms.Patel and got her response this morning. She said there is no further form to be provided from my side and they will send the decision out of this week.

What I submitted were only two forms - Need Access Application & Verification of Student Income - no more any other information.

Guess what I can do is just waiting....What kind of form did you receive to fill in?

on March 16 Dr. Patel sent me a pdf file named "Fellowship Application 2009". it was a 2-page file (but 2nd one is a blank sheet). hope it helped. I do also think that, if you don't hear from them with regard to this issue, it means everything has been done correctly

I received my letter of admission for the tax program yesterday.

Applicant20091, when did your file go complete? Mine was complete on 3/10 and I'm wondering if that is too early to expect a decision.

Hey guys, I got a fellowship decision letter this morning. A bit confused, it's an email from financial aid officer with a attached excel. In the excel it indicated my financial aid is an amount covering all expenses, but it seems it's a loan...("NU GPAL Loan")

I didn't apply for any loan sepcifically, can anybody give some inputs? I would be beyond happy if this is a real free financial aid!!!! but feel I couldn't believe it..

I got an e-mail stating that no fellowship has been granted to me...really bad news, 'cause I was relying on a partial scholarship to cut tuition fees...whatever...a loan is not exactly a fellowship, but it may be considered as a form to help you enrolling into their master's degree...don't know what to say. with regard to the word file Ms. Patel is asking you for, if you need it I can forward it to you. just pm me your personal e-mail address. let me know

11 I'm sorry to hear this news. Thanks so much for your kindness, I actually just finished that form and faxed to Ms.Patel...but I feel the hope is really remote since you got this decision...I will keep you informed about my status and let's see whether we can meet in person in Chicago some day..

don't give up on scholarship, although I think they will grant on a need base and not on merit base (I was looking for the second one). I'm lucky 'cause my parents are willing and can afford to pay me a master. still a little discount was more than welcome... hope you work it out!

Sorry to hear that Stagista, but its good that you are going anyway!
I am in the same situation as zacaotian...received the loan but did not hear about the fellowship...I am really worried because i´ve heard the loan requires an american co-signer (which would be almost impossible for a foreign student)..

did you receive the fellowship notice though Mrs. Patel?

thanks

Dear Marco,

Based on the current number of admitted students who have been offered fellowships, I am writing with the unfortunate news that we will not be able to offer you a fellowship to attend Northwestern. Therefore, if you have not already done so, it will be necessary for you to make an enrollment decision based on this information. The deposit and I-20 deadline is April 10, 2009.

However, we will keep you under consideration for fellowship assistance, depending on the rate of initial acceptances and our receipt of your confirming e-mail as described below.

All initial fellowship recipients must accept or reject their fellowship awards by April 10th. Upon receipt of their responses, we will immediately determine whether or not we can award any additional fellowships. Unfortunately, it is impossible for us to predict the final outcome or any anticipated fellowship amounts prior to April 10th, since results have varied greatly from year to year.

This is the first part of the e-mail sent to me few hours ago, and signed by Dr. Patel.

Hope it helped! wish you better luck and see you in Chicago
