Hi all,
I'm Adi, 28 from Israel. since long time I've been considering LLM in one of the top u.s law schools and it's now or never.
I graduated 1st in law class of 250, I also have a BA in Economics. I'm going to start a one year clarckship in the supreme court of israel. I also work as a teaching assistant in two academic institutions in my country and wrote 2 articles which are expected to be published in israeli journales this year.
I'm not sure whether I'd like to practice law in the future or maybe have an academic career, so I wish to keep these two doors open. I would also like to the number of application as possible.
I would really appreciate if you could share your opinion regarding my chances to get admitted specifically into YLS, HLS, SLS or Berkeley. Does my age play against me (I'll be nearley 30 at the relevant time...)
Many thanks

I think with your qualifications, you'll have a great chance of getting in.
Furthermore, law students in american schools are generally more mature (average age for a JD is about 25), so I don't think you're too old. You probably have an advantage too since american school look for stuff like work experience which you have.

You definitely have very good chances. I also think that you can easily get a scholarship and/or tuition waiver from a law school.

Hi Adi,
Well I know Berkeley LLM pretty well so you should know that your age may actually really help you because that means you've had a lot of experience. Berkeley Law requires a personal statement, so use that to play up your experience and really show who you are as a person. And if you did so well, I'm sure you won't have a problem with good letters of recommendation.
