LL.M at Pittsburgh University with a 3 y.o. child

OksanaR

Hi! Please advise if this is possible to pursue LL.M studies with a 3 y.o. child at Pitts?
My family's initial plan was to travel to the USA with my husband and our son, to pursue my studies. Due to the martial law in Ukraine, my husband is not allowed to cross the Ukrainian borders. Is it possible to study LL.M and to manage the 3 y.o. child alone? How difficult is the educational process? What is the schedule of classes (how many classes per week)? Did anybody have the same experience?
Many thanks!

I am sure it is possible, but I do not know of anyone personally who has done an LLM with children, especially not in your circumstance.

Luckily for you, Western Pennsylvania has a large Eastern European community. (It’s where my grandparents went.) Also, UPitt is the only major university that I know of with a very sizable Slavic studies department. If anywhere is going to be friendly to your situation, it is there. You should speak to the UPitt law school about your options first.

Also - There are a lot of local Eastern European community groups in Western Pennsylvania that might be better able to answer your questions about this. I would recommend starting with the website for Pittsburgh Ukrainians at pittsburghukrainians . com
