Haha! To be honest, re all this clock-watching...I suppose Harvard-material candidates would be able to warp the fabric of the space-time continuum with the sheer brilliance of their intellect ;)

No reply from admissions may mean nobody is there this week (spring break) - don't bombard em with calls though, in case there is somebody there getting irritated!

Usually the administration is open during spring break (only classes are not in session), but it is unlikely decisions will be issued this week. I would be pleasantly surprised.

Hahaha you guys are really freaking me out!! But I guess I'm just like you since I've been checking this board every 30 minutes.

My application tracking system hasn't changed AT ALL since November. My recommendations status hasn't been updated so far. Now I'm afraid something is wrong !

I definitely think we are gonna hear from HLS next Monday. I have a friend working at Harvard's Kindergarden and she says everyone goes away on spring break...and today it has just begun.
Let's wait paciently for 7 more days.

Best of lucks to y'all

I'm personally not sure of that, but I was told today that, in past years, decisions weren't issued until after the 17th.

Hi guys,
I just wanted to share a little tip.
I was waiting for the HLS results last year, and as mentioned above, they came out on Monday, the 16th. However, not all emails concerning admission (or non-admission) were sent on the same day. in fact, most of the people got to know about their results by calling the office on the first day once the rumor spread on the board that such results had been released. I then received my official result by email a couple of days later.
I suspect that this year might work the same way, although there might be differences due to the new system of entirely online application.

I would suggest that one of us calls the office (I am currently impossibilitated since my work phone is blocked for international calls) and let us know on the board whether the results are officially out.

If that is the case, the second advice is just place your call in order to calm down your anxiety. Do not worry about them getting irritated for the too many calls, they would be so only if it was to repeat what they already said to other applicants, i.e. to say that results have not been released yet.

Universities are businesses. Administration doesn't just shut down because classes are not in session due to spring break. Legal holidays are a different matter. My experience has been that administrations remain open during spring break. Indeed, when staff are not interrupted by students or student inquiries on a regular basis, they are able to accomplish more.

I really don't think any decisions have already been released (with the exception of expedited decisions which have been kept hush-hush). People would be posting about it if they had received decisions by email. We've just got to wait til next week. Personally, I am going to treat myself to something indulgent like a nice book & some Laduree macaroons regardless of outcome :) I must stop looking at this board in the interim!

I am sure that if expedited decisions were issued, then someone who successfully received one would have reported it. The virtual silence is suspect, as nothing binds those individuals from revealing such a disposition. Indeed, someone would be more inclined to reveal successful expedited consideration than withhold it in order to spark intrigue and interest. Certainly this board does not reflect the entire pool of applicants, but I highly doubt that expedited consideration was extended to anyone unless severe extenuating circumstances were present. Of course, that is my pure speculation as I did not request expedited consideration.

AFAIK HLS requires applicants who successfully requested expedited consideration to remain quiet about this until the rest of the decisions are released. There was someone in this position on the board last year, if the posts are to be believed. If I had requested expedited consideration (which I haven't) and was successfully granted it, but told to keep quiet, I wouldn't post about it on here as the veil of anonymity is fairly thin and admissions are no doubt aware of the existence of this forum.

Having said that, I agree that the circumstances would have to be extreme to warrant expedited consideration. Acceptance to YLS (with competing deadline for acceptance) or a very, very major scholarship at CLS or NYU might be enough to do it. I don't know. I think it is scarcely worth bothering asking for expedited consideration unless you have something major up your sleeve.

That's fair. Of course, human impulse would be to brag about it in some manner, like "it is possible to receive expedited consideration." But it is true that anonymity would be compromised. Either way, expedited review is sort of moot at this stage. I just hope that those who have accepted elsewhere have withdrawn as doing so is both ethical and comports with fair play for those who are awaiting admissions decisions and for the admissions office to know the number of available seats.
