I have to decide between Cornell,USa & LSE UK.Difficult decision.Can somebody help?

I intend to specilise in corporate law.

Lion as I see it you have the following factors to deal with:
1. Do you want to do the NY bar exam? I think an LSE LLM may not make you eligible.
2. Do you want tio study in a big city like London or a student town like ithicha.
These ofcourse are just few of the factors and a lot depends on where you want to land up working. Personally though studyihng in the states gives you the additional freedom to sit for the bar exam as well as still gives you the opening of giving your Qltt to qualify in England. However the same may not be possible if you study in England. So think hard and good luck!! Both are top tier schools so you can not really go wrong.

Great to hear bout ur ucla....i dont think i will go to ucla...will decline. and no scholarships as i couldnt apply for the LLMs well in advance due to personal reasons and some of my applications went in miserably late...probably just on the last date of the deadline...!

btw were r u from and how many years have you been in practice? i have been in practice for more than 3 yrs and based in delhi.

So where have you accepted finally? I have declined UW (Seattle) and UCLA. Gonna take upenn finally. have already paid the $500/- initial deposit. Still have time to decline NYU till May 1. Waiting for Columbia.

Congrats on your selection! I have sent my second deposit to Upenn as well. We are both lucky to have gotten admitted into smaller classes. UCLA (50-55) Upenn (80-85). I will be doing a combo of IP and securities. I believe that these would be good, keeping in mind that India is now actively waking upto IP and investment is flowing into India through the markets (securities). BTW, if you r gonna tell people that you only wanna work there for a couple of years....its not a good idea. pl remember that no firm would wanna invest in you if you are not ganna be around for them to start recovering their 'investment'. :)

I got an offer from the university of edinburgh to do LL.M in Innovation Technology and Law( not distant education). Any 1 else 4 the same.....

Usually Indians wont join edinburgh for LLM, and as of my knowledge no indians are there as LLM student. The last indian student studied for this course is a tamil, some 10 years ago. But u can giv a try...but get ready to fight with the sour part of ur life at edinburgh !

Hey People. Really glad to have found this forum. You guys are kind of like my seniors cuz I would be applying for the Fall 08 LLM programmes. I have just given my final LLB from Bombay. I just wanted to know what sort of percentage do the Universities want from Indian students apart from the personal statements, recos, toefl scores etc. I have shortlisted Cornell, Michigan Ann Arbor, Chicago, Duke, Boston and Fordham. all d very best for ur applications...
its not exactly easy and simple n d wait cud b killin...but tht is not to deter u, but only to tell u what to expect!
there r no fixed persentage cut off tht uniz want..it depends on ur GPA/CGPI/CPI ..whatever ur domestic uni calculates n ur rank in college...needless to say u must have strong academics to begin with..but SOP n LOrs r equally important n of course extra curriculars tooo..
