I myself graduated from GWU in May 2001. As far as the personal statement is concerned, it should be like a short essay on things that you did in your career so far, what made you choose the career field you are in and what you hope to gain from the LLM program. Once you are done with a draft version of it, have some peers critique it for you. I did the same!
As for letters of recommendations, it really should come from your professors. Good luck and hope the blogs didn't bring you down!

I did not submit 11th and 12th transcripts, although things might have changed since the time I graduated.

thanks for your prompt replies.
I would have thought that someone who has finished his education would not be bothered with keeping tabs on the goings on here. So what keeps you coming back? Im not questioning a gift horse in the mouth coz thanks to people like you, people like me have it a little easier!

Well for one make that "her" not his. :)
Blogging was not so popular back then but really I would have liked to talk to someone before stepping into the LLM program. So I just try to do my part where I possibly can. Hopefully I won't push any wrong buttons.

oooops! sorry. That was a typo.
Thats really nice of you. And no way can you push wrong buttons with good intentions.
May I ask another question or 2? :)
Did you find it difficult to get a job there? I get so many conflicting answers, it makes my head spin.
Do you have any suggestions about what programs to pick in case I want to stay in the US and practice?
If you have any advice for a new comer, Im willing to listen.
Thanks Annie.

I have few questions. Any answers or link will be much appreciated.
1. what will be cost of tuition and others in GW and GT for LLM?
2. What is the deadline to apply for 2008 intake?
2. How long you can stay in US after completion of LLM?
Thanks,
Ashraf

You might want to look at GW or GT law school websites.
Well, after you graduate from the LLM program.. you get something called an E.A.D (Employment Authorization Document) to work in the US for a year. After the one yr period you should have either been sponsored by an employer (H1B) in the US or will have to return to your home country.
