Congratulations.

Did NYU ever ask you for your fall semester grades?

Has NYU already released its decisions? I thought they don't start notifying until March.

Congrats, though I know you're leaning towards UF.
Maybe you can use this as a leverage to get generous money from UF.

Congratulations, Sdevante!

This post makes me feel nervous (to be precise, much more nervous that I already was). I applied to the International Tax Program for Foreign Students at NYU, and do you have any idea whether the decisions for ITP admission will be releases soon as well? By the way, when did your file go complete?

Toadsdaddy,

I am in the same situation as you... Applied to the ITP (NYU Intl. Tax LL.M.), went complete on jan 23. No news since then.

Thanks everyone. I am in fact leaning towards UF (signed a lease already in Gainesville too, lol), but it was nice to get into the #1 program. Plus this means you should all be hearing decisions soon too.

I went complete Oct. 29, 2008.

Best of luck everyone!

Franziskaner,

Good to hear from you. I would dare to say that we are rather in exactly the same situation cuz I also received an offer from the International Tax LLM Program at U of Mich (unless you heard from other schools). =)

Anyways, those who admitted recently by NYU seem to have submitted their applications sometime October or even earlier. As mine was submitted later November and went complete on mid-December, I guess more nail-biting days are ahead of me...

I am a domestic applicant and my application to NYU's Tax LL.M. program went complete in late November. I too received an email from NYU yesterday informing me that I was admitted to the Graduate Tax Program in NYC next fall.

I suppose this means that other people should start hearing from NYU any day now.

I'm an international student, but I have a JD from a US school. I was just curious as to whether that eliminates me from consideration for either NYU's International Tax LLM, or U of Michigan's International tax program.

Do you have an L.L.B. degree from your home country in addition to your J.D. degree?

Yes, by the end of May this year I will have both my Canadian LL.B and a J.D.

I am in a similar situation, except that I am not from Canada. lol..
I asked similar questions to NYU.
My questions were, "inter alia" 1) which programs are more favorable in terms of job prospects and admissions standard; and, 2) is it allowed to apply to the both programs.

The answers were:
"1) The choice between the Graduate Tax Program and International Tax Program is completely yours; you must look to see which program benefits your needs more appropriately. Please note that both programs are equally competitive. For more information on what each program offers, please visit the following webpages:

http://www.nyulawglobal.org/graduateadmissions/masteroflaws/taxation.htm
http://www.nyulawglobal.org/graduateadmissions/masteroflaws/internationaltaxation.htm

2) Unfortunately, you may only apply to one program at a time."

These answers imply that an international student with an L.L.B. and a J.D. can apply to either of the two programs. But to be sure, I would contact them and ask specifically at GradMoreinfo@juris.law.nyu.edu.

I'm an International student and I applied in October for the International Program at NYU. No answers yet... Is anybody out there who was already accepted by NYU, is an international student, and applied for The International Program in Taxation? If yes, when you were accepted and when you applied?
Thanks
