IN @ NYU!!!

Ruleoflaw

It's not any inside information, It's just speculation. NYU has made two rounds of offers thus far. Generally they make around 4 rounds of offers before venturing into waitlists etc. They make more than 500 offers by the end of it. So I am presuming that they would make atleast another 250 offers. Where all have you applied to?

Why is that? No scholarship?

I have been admitted to both Chicago and Columbia (still awaiting reply from Harvard).

Oh that's great. Where else have you applied to? Any schools in the UK? Where are you from? Would you rate Chicago over NYU?

I have been admitted to a number of top-10 schools. I'm from Scandinavia.

Ratings depend entirely on your personal preferences. However, as my primary interest is corporate finance (with which area I have several years of work experience) I would prefer Chicago over NYU. Morever, there is quite a big difference between Chicago's 50-LL.M. program and NYU's 450-LL.M. program.

Hi. I got accepted last night to the LLM in Trade Regulation, Antitrust. I was also accepted at BU and Fordham and waitlisted at Chicago. I am aware that NYU would be the best place to go, but just having second thoughts because of the financial aspect, since I was granted a partial scholarship at BU.
To the others in antitrust, where are you from? I'm from Belgium.
Grtz.

I am also waiting for Corporation, wondering whether it is true that NYU has not released many offers to Corporation applicants thus far.

To the best of my knowledge, the offers thus far have been released on a random basis. There is no particular way to analyze it. All the best! This wait really hurts!

Hey, I am thinking about the NYU LLM as well. I have a few questions hopefully you guys can answer.

1) What kind of marks do you need to be admitted?
2) I am thinking about applying directly after my LLB, as a result when I apply to the LLM my transcript will not be complete. Is this a negative?
3) I have a UK LLB and a Canaidan BBA.

@ OaklandAs
A friend of mine got an offer yesterday...
I'm still waiting - General LL.M.... Though I don't expect to get a reply for another few days. I sent in some additional grades which they had asked for. The documents reached them just yesterday, so now my wait starts!

I'm guessing that the next round of offers will be made next week. I don't think we should expect anything from NYU this week.

I just checked the academic calendar on the website of NYU, and found that they will have Spring Recess next week for four days. Does that mean that no news should be expected to be released next week?

I noticed that the admissions letter that came inside my admissions packet was dated several days earlier than the e-mail acceptance. Don't assume that you get an e-mail on the day they decide. They could be making decisions on Thursday and Friday even though the e-mail will not be sent out till next week. It's quite possible that even though the school is on break, there may still be someone around to send e-mails. I have no personal knowledge of this. I'm just guessing.

Good luck!
