I have already been accepted to some top law schools, but UVA is my first choice - a fact that I have actually communicated to the admissions committee, through incessant emails. I am interested in criminal legal history, and UVA has an extremely strong reputation in this area, particularly due to the teachings of Professor A. E. Dick Howard and G. Edward White, just to name a couple renowned UVA scholars.
Has anyone, specifically domestic applicants, received an acceptance (or rejection) from UVA recently?
Hear from UVA recently?

In this case, why don't you call the admission office, which might be better than email inquiry as most probably they don't have time to reply email during this busy period. As UVA LLM program is very selective, it is really an honor to be admitted. Good luck to you!!!!!!

I was admitted about two weeks ago...but yesterday I've already withdrawn my application from UVA as I am going to UChicago. So one more slot will be open! Good Luck!

Congrats on your admission vivijiwei!! You are right - I'm going to call the office tomorrow morning, and see what I can find out. Are you definitely going to UVA?
I'm from the U.S., and I think the program may be even more selective for domestic applicants. I am just dying to get in. I feel like my application is in this big pile waiting for the people who have already been accepted to make their decisions.
vivijiwei and redfox: when are your deadlines for deposits? Thanks for your help!

I also got admitted to UVA one month ago and am from China. FA decision for me hasn't come out yet and the deadline will be decided together with FA. Anyway, I've almost decided to go to UVA.
Cavalier, may I ask you a question? How about UVA's reputation in the US, compared with Boalt Hall, UMichigan, UPenn? Thank you and good luck to you!

Same situation with Dave. Deadline of deposit will be notified later together with the FA decision. Good Luck, Cavalier!

Well, I called early this morning. It seems that I am just going to have to be patient with the process, and keep my fingers crossed. Has anyone else heard from UVA recently, or know when a deadline is coming up?
As far as UVA's reputation in the U.S., I would say that its reputation is comparable to that of Boalt, Mich, or Penn. All of these schools are in the top 10. With respect to getting a job at a top U.S. law firm, the rankings are extremely important, so the higher ranked the school is in U.S. News, the better (and only U.S. News rankings count). UVA has an outstanding rank in U.S. News. I have also heard that it has a warm and friendly atmosphere, due to the collegial student body, and welcoming faculty and staff.

Wow, that's great dam. Congratulations!! When was your application complete? Will you be attending? I'm still waiting...

They asked me for some additional documents on Feb.6.
I think my application was complete around Feb.20-25.
This is my 7th offer and I'm finding it hard to decide: without financial aid hints I think I will have to rely heavily on US News rankings.

Did anybody receive a waitlist decision from UVA?
Posted Apr 01, 2007 07:26
For those who received admissions, did the offers come by email? How long did you have to wait after your apps were complete?
Congrats on Boalt Roger! Dam, keep us posted on your plans.

Acceptance came via e-mail.
As for my plans, I'll wait for the outcome of my last three applications and then decide.
