There are no official stats on the number of people on the waitlist who are eventually offered admission. But based on anecdotal evidence, it is rare for waitlisted candidates to gain admission.
Certainly, you should not turn down other law schools in the hope that HLS will come back with an offer.

I've also just learned that I have been waitlisted... The guy on the phone said that the admission office should send an email with more information about the waitlist in the next couple of weeks.

Please count me in, too

I'm on the waiting list too. The email says that they expect to have a better idea by early May. Guess the change of getting in would be pretty low........

Hello! I wanted to ask all people who are waitlisted by HLS whether 1) they do not accept the other offers, or 2) they accepte the offers from other university and wait for Harvard's reply in the beginning of May.
3) I have no idea whether they want us to notify the fact that we accept the another school even in the case that we will turn dow the offer if we are acepted by HLS?
4) do you think that the schools inform each other about our decisions?

Hi there.
I decided to turn all other offers down and wait for the call of faith (to old readers of this forum: note I am not mentioning religion, as our fellow poster ChristChoice used to do :)...it's been a while we have not heard back from him, aren't you curious to know after all that praying what his final outcome was?)

I am waitlisted too. If I get the Harvard's decision, I will turn down any other offer. But at present, I do not know what should I do, or even worse what have I do? What does it me acceptance of the other offer by HLS stuff? Paying the depositi to another school, even I am not decided to go there, is the acceptance?

Nail, Do you think that we have the chance? How many poeple have been place in the waiting list? Does Harvard expect we turn down any other offernot to be removed from the waiting list?

Guys, I would strongly recommend you to not put your hopes on the waitlist. It is almost impossible to get admission from there as HLS already accepts more people than the 150 places for the program, so even if someone turns down the offer, that doesn't mean that they will start accepting people waitlisted. Morever, I know many people who have been in the HLS waitlist in the past years and none has gotten admission.
This isn't very good news, but I prefer to tell you the truth rather than encourage false expectations.
Good luck!!!

I got the information that one can accept the place at another school and if still be considered for a plce from HLS waiting list.
Probably no one knows how many people are waitlisted and if there is any chance to get in.

I was waitlisted by HLS, but I realized that it is almost impossible to become accepted since they send more than 150 acceptances, just in case that a few persons decline its offer.
I preferred to focus on my other offers (Berkeley, Columbia, Chicago) and accept Chicago. I could not manage the anxiety that HLS waitlist cause, and now I feel so relieve and happy!
