I wonder what one would do if accepted - scream? cry? laugh?
And if rejected - ...same? I must say this site is therapy for me right now.

I will certainly ask again. Something like:

Accepted? Really? Mr. X., are you sure?

Ok here is a theory for the second complete email...
Well most of us have Toefl Scores which end up reaching the school 2 to 3 weeks from the time we send in our applications....
HLS gave us an application complete when they go our initial applications ...
The second complete email was when they got our toefl scores.
Then again there are others who gave their toefl scores very very early and they reached HLS probably before the applications.
They would get only one complete email...
There are others who may not need a Toefl Score ... so I would assume there would be only one complete email ...

All of this is a as you are probably aware and educated guess based on the timelines of the second complete email.
So I won't be worried about it ...

both cases i'm probably gonna faint.. :)
then wake up, realise i'm accepted or rejected, and faint again

this is a good therapy for me too!

I think that getting genuinely frustrated and sad over a Harvard rejection is basically the same as considering suicide after losing at the Roulette table. Of course one would be disappointed for a brief time, but anything beyond is ridiculous, it's Harvard we're talking about!

Hi guys. I perfectly agree with u. This forum is real therapy but I think no therapy would ever stop me from fainting on the phone.....to hear REJECTED OR ACCEPTED. Anyway, there ll be real real suspence...... I m already stressed now.

Guys...if I get rejected, the first thing that am going to do, is to spend a week a so, going through my application, so as to analyze "what went wrong".
Thereafter, as to what am i suppose to do to get admitted, the next time I apply.
If I get admitted - PARTY TIME :)

legal-eagle, if you get rejected by HLS you would reapply next year? I mean, even if you are accepted this year to another law school, you'd turn it down to try again HLS next year?
i won't reapply next year. if i'm rejected, which i guess is very likely to happen, so be it :)
however if i get admitted, i agree with you: PARTY!! ;-)

btw, do you guys know if all the decisions are gonna be sent the same day?

Just like to add about the second email, please don't worry, I didn't get one, I emailed to ask several times and only got automatic replies that didn't confirm whether or not my application was complete, but finally I have just learned that my application is still fine.

My understanding from last years' threads is that rejections are made by mail only whereas offers are released first by email and then by mail.

I called Harvard and they clearly said that decisions will be sent only by mail. No emails will be sent out but if you wish to know the result before gettin the envelope you can call them directly, answer a few questions to be identified and know about your destiny.

I think they could give a response on the phone by March 21, 2009.

Based on last year, everyone who got admitted received an email from HLS informing them of the good news.

A very small group were informed of their admission beforehand, but told to keep it to themselves. These are probably those who have a scholarship deadline from another law school (i.e. Hausers), and had found out about their admission when they informed HLS of their predicament.

For the rest who did not receive the acceptance email, they received their rejection or waitlisted notices through regular mail.

So, check your email. And check this board to see if anyone has received an acceptance email from HLS. You should know by then whether you are in or out.

Best of luck!
