sorry I screwed up, but I'm everything but a very patient guy...I've read a thread about Cornell's decisions, so I'm pretty sure Cornell have started to notify its admitted students. Anyway, I submitted my application in early september...

Reading previous posts about the application process in previous years it seems some "exceptional" candidates heard well before others - around this time, it seems.

Do you think this is true? Has anyone out there heard? Also I know it says on their application form that you can notify them if you have other deadlines, but do you think it is worth it? Will they really care....they are Harvard after all!!

Harry 1985: I think that the only deadline that they will take into account could be, maybe, one imposed for a full scholarship by Yale. I believe neither Harvard nor Yale consider other law school as competitors, so, I would not notify them any deadline, because I am afraid that the answer could be Great, Columbia (or Chicago or Penn etc.) are great law schools, we are sure that you will be happy there.

Moreover, I read (dont remember if I read it here or in another website) or heard some months ago that even people who have won the Hauser Scholarship (that has a very short deadline to accept it or decline it) have asked HLS an early notification, but they didnt have it. In addition, I think that most HLSs applicants already have other offers, so I dont think that they could modify their notification date to only some applicants.

Last, if you have sent an email or called Harvard maybe you have noticed that they dont answer some emails (usually thus that are not directly related with the application or thus which are updates or modifications of what it is stated in the application) or they answer one month after you send them. If you call them, is even worst. Personally, I will not bother them, since I think that at this point nothing could impress them (as you said, is Harvard after all), but some conducts could be considered annoying by them.

I think that they will release their notices in a couple of weeks, so, now we just have to pray to be admitted at Harvard, Yale, or whichever is your dream school.

hm I kind of don't know what to write either :)
I guess most people wait for notifications from scholarship foundations (like me) and of course answers from YLS; HLS; CLS; SLS; UCB; NYU as most of the people applied there. Its a long wait for all of us :)

oh
p.s. - I got an offer from UofM where I wanted to go, so I am of the hook (I did apply to other schools just in case UofM won't take me, but now I don't care about those answers) :) Just waiting for those scholarship notifications!

correct me if wrong, but I think they started around March 8 last year. this means that we're likely to hear something from next Monday till April, since it should take a while to choose and notify 150 lucky and talented admitted students...also Yale should begin releasing decisions in the next 7/15 days...

Someone know if Yale and Harvard make waitlist?

Been waitlisted those law schools will cause me several problems (including stress of course), because I have deadlines from other law schools, and, if HLS and Yale make waitlist, I am sure that waitlisted people will not have an answer before June.

I'm at Oxford, but I've just got rejected from UPenn so I'm getting rather worried now. I'm in my third year and I've heard US universities are generally more favourable to people with work experience and I have none! I'm still waiting on UCL in the UK too

honestly, do not rely on their waiting lists, otherwise you are likely to give uo your spot somewhere else with no feedback... yale admits only 25 students per year...that means that you can have some chance to get into if you're 26th...Harvard is almost everyone's dream shool. you can get a spot in Chicago, CLS, Berkeley and so on after many confirm Harvard, but it would be hard viceversa...

I completely agree with you Stagista11, however, that doesnt means that we will not have a hard time if we are waitlisted by HLS or Yale.

Moreover, I believe that YLS should accept around 28 persons for 25 spots, bearing in mind that two or three will decline. HLS should accept around 170 for 150 spots, bearing in mind that maybe 10 will prefer Yale, 5 SLS and 5 other law schools, so I think that those law schools (and all the other as well) release more acceptances than the actual number of spots available, bearing in mind that some accepted applicants will decline the offer, however, I believe that for SLS, Yale and HLS only a few will decline the offer, therefore, you have a very small chance of being admitted if you are waitlisted.

But, despite the chances of being admitted if you were waitlisted, do you know if HLS and Yale make waiting list?
