Havent decided yet, trying to decide between Duke and GWU and also waiting for a reply from Berkeley. But till then, I know GWU has an exceptional Patent law Faculty, but can someone tell me how is their Faculty and program for soft IP?

I was accepted to the International and Comparative law program, but still trying to decide between GW or Fordham. GW seems like a better school, but maybe the networking and internships opportunities are better in NY?

I have been accepted to GWU IP. I hope to be there this fall but still waiting to hear from BU. I have to consider between GWU and BU. However, I am considering GWU seriously because of their exceptional Patent Law Faculty.
Congratulations to everyone...............

Still waiting to hear from them. I've been accepted to a couple of other schools. Will consider GWU IP if I get a scholarship.

I've been admitted to the International and Comparative Law LL.M. and I accepted GW Law's offer. Is anyone considering creating a facebook group? :)

I'm admitted too with a scholarship! I applied for the IP LLM. I also have offers from Berkeley (no scholarship) and UCLA (smaller amount than GWU). Really really confused.

Both Berkeley and GWU are among the best 10 universities for IP. While Berkeley is number 1 and GWU number 4. Firstly, it depends on what you're looking at in terms of cost of living, possibility of getting an internship and the weather in both places are different. UCLA is a nice school with higher ranking than GWU. However, GWU has a stronger IP faculty than UCLA. I had think the confusion should be between Berkeley and GWU.
Just consider your goals carefully before accepting any of those schools.
Good luck......

You're right, the confusion is between Berkeley and GWU. From what I've heard and read, I think GWU provides better opportunities to intern which would be great exposure. Berkeley has just been a school I've wanted to go to since a really long time but I guess I should let it go now.

I was also accepted to GW and paid my seat deposit. I am not 100% certain if I will be attending but as of right now, I am proceeding as if I will attend. Good to meet everyone!

If you look at the big law firms websites you will find a large number of lawyers with a GW degree (JD and/or LLM). There is no doubt that GW has the best overall IP program, but other schools might have better specializations, like Berkeley has a tech/innovation core and Fordham has a fashion law core. If you are have a technical degree and wants to work with patents, GW is the only option in my opinion.

Also, how is the housing search going for you guys? Is it too early to look for a place in DC?

@MVultra you're right. GWU has an exceptional IP faculty and the oldest in IP as well. I know there are lots of internships in D.C both with local and international organisations. GWU in my opinion too is the option.
Is not too early to start looking for accommodation. But i had think that Maryland and Virginia might be more cheaper than D.C.

@meghsril32, well it all depends on what your priorities are. Cardozo is among the top 10 universities that specializes in IP. However, GWU ranks higher both in IP and general ranking. Both New York and DC are good cities in terms of opportunities after your LLM.
Just think through and make the right decision. In my opinion, I had prefer GWU.......All the best.....

Congratulations @an1401, although i was not offered a scholarship but i had prefer GWU due to their exceptional IP. I hope to send my acceptance as well. Please, how do you intend to start looking for accommodation? In my own opinion, houses outside DC would be a better option like Maryland and Virginia. Are you a male or female, maybe we could team up and get something nice and affordable.
Hope to see you all this August.......

Thanks! I'm a female from India. I recently got in touch with someone from India who is currently doing the GWU LLM. I think I'll send her another email asking about accommodation. I'm guessing people who've been there will have a pretty good idea about what area would be best. I will post here once I hear from her.
