I'm an international student torn between USC and GULC for my LL.M. Both schools offered generous scholarships. I want to do public interest work in data privacy/tech or in-house roles at multinationals, not big law. Any thoughts on these schools for international students or in these fields? I would love to hear your insights!
Thanks.

Everything else being equal, Georgetown is the easy choice. Is USC significantly cheaper?

Yes, everything is pretty much equal; tuition is about $80k. I received more or less about the same amount in scholarship awards. The only difference would be the cost of living. Why do you think Georgetown is the easy choice?Everything else being equal, Georgetown is the easy choice. Is USC significantly cheaper?

It’s only one opinion, so definitely do some research and get other views, but GT ranks higher, is viewed better by firms nationally, and has greater portability (at least for the JD; I’m not sure if independent LLM data is available). I don’t think it’s a particularly hard choice unless USC is significantly cheaper or you are tied to the LA/socal area.Yes, everything is pretty much equal; tuition is about $80k. Thank you for this. Yes, I'm tied to the LA area for a cheaper cost of living. I will try to ask GULC for a reconsideration. I share your view. There will be many more opportunities if I end up in GULC! However, my main concern is they have 550 LLM students yearly compared to a smaller headcount at USC.It’s only one opinion, so definitely do some research and get other views, but GT ranks higher, is viewed better by firms nationally, and has greater portability (at least for the JD; I’m not sure if independent LLM data is available).
