Georgetown University: Early Action 2019-2020

Hi, so I applied early action to the Georgetown LL.M. Program. Submitted the application on Nov 7. Application showed as completed on the online status check on Nov 9. Received an email to interview on Dec 7 and replied to it on Dec 10. Haven't received a call/email to schedule an interview yet and haven't received a decision either. Is anyone else in the same situation?

Dying here....

Hi LawLawLand,

I had a similar experience - I got an email for an interview on 7th as well and had replied by the 8th. The respective alumnus contacted me on 13th and I had my interview on the 17th. So I guess you should be hearing from your respective alumni soon.

Regards,
AJ

Hi lawlawland and AJ

I’m in the same situation with Lawlawland. I accepted the interview proposal on 7th December , but haven’t received any e-mail from the school or alumni until now.

I have a question to AJ. Which language did you use for your alumni interview(English or your own native language)? and how was the atmosphere?

I had my interview in English and the interview was pretty nice. It was a casual chat, where he ask me to introduce myself, why the LLM program and why Georgetown. He told me some of his experiences in Georgetown. Then we went on to talk about externships, food and museums. It was pretty much like talking to a senior in college and lasted for about 30 mins.

Regards,
AJ

I got an admission phone call this morning !
I applied for the early decision but the decision has been delayed because of an alumni interview. I got an alumni interview on 16. July. and got admitted on 25. July. My application status has been changed from 'application complete' to 'under review' a day before the admission call.

I was admitted without any interview, so I don't think that it means that you are automatically rejected. May be availability of the alumni interview depends on whether there is any alumni from your country/region who is willing to participate.

Hey guys, I got an alumni interview request on 17th January (and replied on the same day), but I still haven't got any response scheduling my interview .. how long does it generally take for them to get back? Has anyone else also had an experience of hearing back after over 3 weeks?

I don't think you should be worried at all. I think interviews are for borderline applicants (like myself). I received an interview, but I personally feel as if my application could have gone either way. I also got accepted about a week and a half after my interview.

Anyways, you should hear back soon! Don't worry too much about it.

I received an interview invite a week before the December break. So I did not hear back from them for a while. As soon as the school went back in session in January, I e-mailed them asking for an update. They e-mailed me back the same day with the person who would be contacting me for an interview and that person also e-mailed me that day to schedule the interview.

I suggest you do the same; it wouldn't hurt :)

Anyone here applied for International Legal Studies?

Hi! I received my acceptance to LLM ILS by Jan 12th. Applied for regular action deadline.
Anxiously awaiting the scholarship decision. I'm told they will start announcing them by March.
Congrats to those admitted!
